Concept Named after a tree with sprawling, shady boughs, Rain Tree Café lives up to its title by offering expressions of culinary art as wide as they are delectable. Our all-day dining venue reflects the passion points and personal interests of Princess Valaya Alongkorn, an aunt of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The princess's Kandhavas Palace once stood on the spot occupied now by The Athenee, so it is fitting that the hotel's largest and most prominent dining outlet should honor its royal heritage. A signature part of the far-reaching renovation, for which The Athenee won the Five Star Asia Pacific Property Award for "Best Hotel Interior Thailand", Rain Tree Café, embodies an elegant space dedicated to epicurean excellence. Three distinct but complementary zones are conceived to complement each other as if elements in the palace's ground-floor plan. The hub, dubbed "The Bronze Kitchen", hosts modern iterations of aristocratic elegance combined with state-of-the-art hot and cold buffet counters and live kitchens. Next door, a formal library-style "VIP" space, the period-style "Valaya Room", is carved out of a front corner situated immediately adjacent to tree-lined Wireless Road. The third main space is the "Secret Garden", another heritage-rich yet modern dining room that lends itself to afternoon high teas and private parties. Beyond majestic glass-encased wine displays, Rain Tree Café includes an outdoor terrace, where guests can dine, drink and possibly smoke while soaking up the leafy street-side ambiance. Those arriving on foot can scale the shallow granite stairs between water features leading to the restaurant. An intriguing choice for dining with friends, family and business clients, the culinary journey leads you to Italy, India, France, China, America, Japan, the Middle East, Thailand and all across Asia. With a capacity of 250 covers, Rain Tree Café is one of Bangkok's most outstanding international restaurants, renowned for its culinary expertise, curated a la carte menus, and exceptionally gourmet buffets.
