Built in 1847 during the Qing dynasty, Man Mo Temple is dedicated to the god of literature and the god of war. Today, the temple appears especially striking, tucked between two tall buildings on Hollywood Road. Also located in the temple compound are Lit Shing Kung, another Buddhist and Taoist place of worship for other deities, and Kung Sor, an assembly hall where community disputes were solved before the modern legal system was adopted.
