The Museum of Asian Art, established over almost five decades, began with a bronze Buddha head from the Chiengsen period, donated in 1954 by Kun Krassri Nimanamhasminda. Initially housed in the Universiti Malaya campus in Singapore, it later moved to Kuala Lumpur in 1962. Initially displayed in a section of the university library, the collection grew, necessitating a dedicated space. In June 1980, a purpose-built building was constructed between the Faculty of Economics and the Law Faculty. This three-story facility showcases artifacts from three civilizations: Indian, Chinese, and Islamic (Malay culture), preserving Asia's diverse heritage.
