It is important to remember that this list is subject to change, whether it increases by country or vice versa depending on the state of COVID-19 in that country. The average stay in Japan is around 90 days, except for Indonesia for 15 days, Thailand for 15 days, Brunei for 14 days, and the United Arab Emirates for 30 days.

As a note, those who can enter Japan without using a visa are those who have an ePassport. It must follow ICAO standards. For those who do not have an ePassport, they are directed to get a visa first before flying to Japan.

Things to Note Before Entering Japan

Although Japan has relaxed the rules for foreigners who want to visit Japan, there are still some rules that still need to be done before planning to go to Japan.

According to regulations from the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, travelers who want to go to Malaysia do not need to be tested for COVID-19 upon arrival in Japan and are released from quarantine. This is because Malaysia is included in the list of countries with the color "blue" in Japan. Even if you're out of quarantine and don't need to be tested for COVID-19, you'll still need to get three doses of the vaccine, including a booster shot.

However, if you do not take the full vaccine, you must have a negative COVID-19 test result 72 hours before departure. Children under the age of 18 who are not vaccinated will be exempt from the quarantine process, as long as they travel with their fully vaccinated parents.

In accordance with the directive from the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in line with the relaxation of entry regulations to Japan starting on October 11, the Japanese government has also expanded the list of vaccine types that can enter Japan.
