Mumbai Airport, officially Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM), is the main airport for Mumbai in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It sits in the Santacruz and Sahar area of the city and has two passenger terminals: Terminal 1 for domestic flights and Terminal 2 for all international flights and some domestic ones. The airport is run by Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) and is served directly by the Mumbai Metro, with stations at both terminals.

IndiGo, Akasa Air and SpiceJet

IndiGo, Akasa Air and SpiceJet are listed at both terminals. Their international flights use Terminal 2, while domestic flights can leave from either building, so the terminal on your e-ticket is the one to follow.

Moving between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2

A free Inter Terminal Coach links the two terminals. At Terminal 1, catch it at the arrival exit towards the departure entrances. At Terminal 2, it stops at the Level 1 Ground Transportation Level (P4). Allow plenty of time if you are changing terminals for a connecting flight.

Getting to and from Mumbai Airport

Most travellers head into the city by metro, train or road. Fares are shown at the counter or in the app.

Mumbai Metro

The metro serves the airport directly, with CSMIA Airport T1 and CSMIA Airport T2 stations, plus nearby Marol Naka and Sahar Road stations.

Suburban train

The nearest suburban railway stations are Vile Parle (East) for the domestic terminal and Andheri (East) for the international terminal.

City bus

BEST city buses link both terminals with Vile Parle (East) and Andheri (East) stations.

Airport coaches

Air-conditioned airport coaches run to Thane, Andheri, BKC, Navi Mumbai and Colaba.

Taxi, app cabs and car rental

Prepaid and metered taxis, app-based cabs and car rentals are booked at the arrival level of both terminals. At Terminal 2, app-cab pick-ups are at Level 1 Ground Transportation, in the multi-level car park.

Auto rickshaw

Metered auto rickshaws wait at both terminals, but they only go to destinations within the suburbs.

Parking at Mumbai Airport

Both terminals have short- and long-term parking, including a multi-level car park that serves both. Valet, premium and pre-bookable parking are also available. There is a short free pick-up window at the Terminal 1 arrival pick-up zone and at the Terminal 2 Level 5 general parking. Rates are set by the airport.

Lounges

Paid and card-access lounges are in Terminal 1 domestic departures, some open around the clock. Terminal 2 has lounges on domestic Level 3 and after international departure immigration, plus an arrivals lounge. Entry depends on your ticket, a card or a paid pass.

In Terminal 2, arrivals are on Level 2, domestic on Level 3 and departures and international on Level 4, where the check-in counters are.

Restaurants, cafés and quick-service outlets are in both terminals, including the Terminal 1 check-in area and post-security food courts on Levels 3 and 4 of Terminal 2.

Slumber chairs are available for a rest between flights, and a transit hotel and lounge is open to passengers with a valid ticket.

Mumbai Airport advises arriving at least 2 hours before a domestic flight and at least 4 hours before an international flight. Check-in counters for departures are on Level 4 of Terminal 2.
