Loved my stay in room 104 at the Fairhaven Hotel. Recently refurbished room and it was lovely with a fantastic view. Had a problem with the thermostat but staff were happy to provide me with a plug in fire which warmed the room up in no time. Reception requires a revamp but I believe renovations are ongoing. Staff were lovely, polite and helpful. Would happily return!!

We stayed here for New Years Eve and went out into the town, room was ok, overlooked the beach, nice view, lift was out of order so a lot of stairs to climb, we were offered help with our bags if we needed it. Overall it was a nice stay, and would recommend, we would stay here again

We have stayed at The Fairhaven a few times. The only issues are the heating which is difficult to get right as it starts out feeling very cold, then gets too hot in the middle of the night. Also the noise from people outside at around 4am the last two times has woken us. The room is lovely, although new pillows with a bit of bounce in them wouldn't go amiss. The bathroom has no heating so in the winter it is freezing cold The view of the bay is lovely. The staff are very friendly, helpful and polite. We will definitely be back.

Very polite and helpful desk staff on arrival. Upgraded to a sea view room which had recently been refurbished. Decor was lovely and facilities good but carpet needs a good clean. Stairwells need decorating as they're tired. Would stay again as very convenient for the beach, town and walking distance to the pavilion and the shows.

Our room was on 2nd floor, twin with 2 single beds . Hotel lift did not work, we had to carry our luggage by hand . Room had electric heater what did not work, staff provided another little electric heater . On 2nd day of our stay we were woken up at 8 am , drilling and banging by the builders and we discovered there was no hot water and electric , no lights , had to have shower in dark and cold water . We were transferred to family room on the 4th floor, lift not working and we had to carry our luggage further up via endless little corridors and steep steps . Staff never offered to help. My husband is 70 and I am 64 years of age . Our new room was right under the roof of the hotel building ,water was running down the bathroom wall and ceiling in the room was damp. Bathroom was freezing cold due to no heating and gap around the bathroom window, wind would blow into the bathroom. Room was very cold , had electric plug in heater, which is not safe to leave on over night. My husband suffers from diabetes, I had to buy him hot water bottle and warm pyjama to keep him warm over night. Bathroom was nice, but there was no shelves to put our toiletries , no towel rails , had to dry our towels in the room hung over wardrobe doors . Due to storm Bert and bad weather conditions we decided to stay an extra day for safety reasons, when we paid for the room we were charged for family room, not twin. Our stay was totally opposite to what was advertised and expected

It was fine , apart from fire alarm going off in middle of the night, and the electricity power cut in the morning. Only stopped one night, i wouldn't want to spend a weeks holiday there. It was clean and the bed was comfortable.

The hotel is very tired. The room was surface level clean but had maintenance issues such as the towel rail was hanging off and there was plasterboard dust all over the bath. We had no hot water for showers, and the heating didn't work so we were freezing over night.

I did not like the room which I had booked, which was described as Deluxe Single. It was not deluxe, it was an attic room, small, with small window. It was clean and very quiet, too quiet. The whole place had a musty smell., needs good air conditioning. Staff were very helpful in upgrading me to a double en suite room which was almost newly refurbished, in a good location for views of the seafront. Though too quiet, well away from reception and the lounge and dining room. I had booked six nights but cancelled the last night. I was not charged for four of the breakfasts as staff advised that I would be unlikly to get a refund for the last night as now a very quiet season, very few bookings. Continental breakfast was OK, probably expected quality for the price. Staff very helpful. I did not like that a large section of the hotel was empty and gradually being refurbished. But this was off season in October. Very good location for all amenities and transport, restaurants, pubs and shops Would consider again in high season. Good entertainment on the Friday night too
