The room was nice and comfortable and the hotel was lovely. The staff were fantastic, very welcoming. It was lovely to have such a warm welcome and a smile when coming down for breakfast.

Stayed here 4 or 5 times durig my daughters time at the Uni doing her Masters. This was for the Graduation. Rooms are very nice particularly liked this last one. Dont be put off because its slightly out of the city, the bus service is excellent with at least 3 different buses and both bus stops in/out are literally outside the hotel and it takes 5 to 7 minutes. A late taxi back was only £7.50. Hoping I get the excuse to stay here again. Staff couldnt be more helpful, I was genuinely sad to leave this time in case it is my last stay as my daughter will probably have a city based 2 bed apartment with parking. Finally parking, nice secure tree covered car park but its increased from £10 per day September 2023 to £15 per day January. Not a deal breaker but a longer stay and its probably going to cost the same as an extra night

This was the fantastic hotel in every way. We paid £120 for upgrade room with big size and queen bed.
Everything was fantastic. Room clean, friendly staff, breakfast was brilliant.
Shower was absolutely superb was proper pressure and check out time of 11am useful as 10am check out can be a major disappointment.
Great sized room, nice garden, on a bus route to town or easy to use with Uber taxi etc.
Plenty of teas and coffees, room with bonus amenities and television available.
The bed was a happy queen bed with the clean sheets and many towels provided.
Hotel staffed 24 hours and staff are the happy and can help with queries
A lovely lounge room can be used to relax with no electronics to ruin the relax time. A good bar is available and restaurant is well stocked with very prompt staff.
Met some other guests who were happy with the hotel.
I wouldn't change a thing about this hotel and would gladly come back again and recommend to everyone.

Friendly staff. Lovely hotel although Didnt appreciate £15 parking for 24 hours. Surely if people staying a reduced fee could be applied? But otherwise lovely room, asked for a quiet room which was provided for and easy check in and out.

Staff were excellent from start to finish. It was the staff who made the stay, very efficient. Room was spacious and clean. En suite bathroom was adequate but a little tired, needs a freshen up.
Mattress was tired and not very comfortable, but was adequate. First night, I was woken early hours by what sounded like a trolley of crockery being wheeled on a flagstone floor. Wore earplugs for the following couple of nights, just in case. Then slept soundly.
All in all, an adequate stay made better by the attentive staff.

Previously stayed at this hotel, had a great stay. Sadly, this recent stay was very disappointing. On previous visits parking was free, parking is now £15.00 per 24 hours!! Check in was fine although you have to provide a £50.00 ‘holding charge’ for the room. Room we had was on ground floor, through the bar area. To say the room was tired would an understatement. Carpet was threadbare, paint was chipped and dirty, positive is the bed was comfy. Bathroom needed a lot of attention, woodwork and paintwork was chipped, cracked and peeling. Grouting around the shower was grubby and the was a very strange stain on the lino. At least the shower was hot and powerful. Lots of noise from room above led to a broken nights’ sleep, on this stay we won’t be revisiting.

We stayed in The Studio. This is across the street from the main hotel (Be careful crossing the road as it is typically busy).
The Studio has a small lounge with TV, a small adjoining kitchenette and a metal spiral staircase leading up to a double bedroom with TV and an adjoining bathroom.
We enjoyed our stay. We had breakfast in the main dining area which was consistently good. As we were staying for 5 nights we were able to make use of the kitchenette, but we primarily dined in York in the evenings which we walked to along the river paths (about 1.5 miles).
Overall it was ideal for our purpose and we would certainly stay there again.

The service was really excellent throughout our stay whether it was reception, in the bar or the dining room. I really enjoyed my stay and would go back.
If I had a complaint it would be that the wi-fi and phone signal at the rear of the property wasn't great. We were watching BBC iPlayer and it was buffering frequently.

Fantastic!
The public spaces are so beautiful and inviting. The bedroom had everything we needed with a very comfy bed.
Easy to take a bus in to the city centre with my EV charging in the car park ready for the drive back home.

The Breakfast room was cold.
No shower, stand in a bath. So old.
Dirty shower curtain. Rusty shower rail. Swollen wood, you get the picture.
Noisey rooms.
Overpriced hotel.
Breakfast was cold and had been sitting around all morning, bacon hard sausage burnt. Poached egg was more like boiled egg. Again all pre cooked. Better food & quality at high street supermarkets. Disappointing and certainly not worth the money. Cafe across the street try it.
Tinned fruit. How hard is it to cut some fresh fruit. Coffee machine preduces warm coffee at the most. Very poor.
Heating don’t come on until 8am for only about 15 minutes, this is when most people have left after a freezing morning.
Oh and £10 to park this is not mentioned on the web site. Not nice for guests.
Reception in the book in and book out both miserable and didn’t even want to be bothered.
Anything to get money out of you for hotel this is.
All in all find somewhere else.
Ps. Don’t use the pub next door. Waited 2 hours for food as the chef decided to go out for an hour and half. Bad food anyway when it arrived.
