Novotel Solo

Great stay and service, clean, estetic, friendly,

The location is strategic; You can easily walk to popular food spots like Pak Manto 's satay, Triwindu soto, nasi liwet, Keprabon seafood, Keprabon coffee, the legendary Solo ice cream, Titoti meatballs, and Manahan branch siomay. For those who like McDonald 's and KFC, they're nearby as well. It 's also close to Mangkunegara Palace, the antique market, and more. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The executive rooms are affordably priced. On Saturday nights, you can watch some attractions at the Slamet Riyadi street intersection. Novotel is the best!

The quality of the rooms is good, but in the room I stayed in, 701, the air conditioner was not cold enough, and after repair by a technician, it can work well. It is necessary for the technician to check the AC and toilet functions in each room regularly. The breakfast menu in this hotel will be better if the same menu is not served for a week, and it would be nice to have a Solo specialty menu to promote typical Solo food. Refill of food that runs out — glasses and plates for eating — is also very slow. There are many waiters in the restaurant, but they do not immediately clean dirty plates and glasses. The staff is not friendly and needs to be trained to be more hospitable to guests; Therefore, the image and culture of Solo will be visible in this hotel.

It 's amazing experience to stay with Novotel, I am frequently traveling across Indonesia and every few months I travel solo and always stay at Novotel, their services is very nice and very friendly.

As I stayed before, taste of food needs more improvements.

Easy access near to the places we wanted to visit, friendly crew, clean.

(+) Good location. Bedroom area was refurbished, pretty spacious on the bedroom area.(-) For an international brand such as Novotel, room set up was lack of amenities such as slipper (must call to request a pair of slipper) & additional bottle of mineral water is at Rp 15,000. Hotel cutting costs within this area does not meet the Brand service standard of 4 Stars Chain Hotel. We booked 2 rooms 2 nights and one of the room, which is 815 was not cleaned until the next day and Reception was pretty rude responding on the phone insisting the room was already cleaned while not. We informed nicely but responded very bad as if no training on Greetings & Communications. We offer the Reception lady to see for herself the condition of Room 815 rather than insisting on the phone. After that 2 House Keeping Team came at 17.30 to start cleaning the room. Breakfast quality is so-so and food handler staff did not wear gloves while touching the food. The next day during breakfast we found cockroach/bug on the buffet food. Shocked to find roaches on a supposedly good hotel. We immediately informed the waitress staff. The F&b manager approaches to our table & expressed his verbal apology afterwards but none the hotel Executive/Management did not extend any further gesture until we checked out. We did not asked for any compensation because we paid for everything in advance and we did not need any discount, however it is very basic in the good hospitality business that the Executive level responded immediately to this kind of case with measured actions. We strongly suggest that the Management could put some attention to improve the standard - even if the hotel team mentioned that market is more towards Govt/Corporate/Group not FIT. The hotel is strategically located, it will be excellent if the service could be met accordingly.
