Japamala Resort by Samadhi is a boutique resort by and one of the Samadhi Retreat properties in Malaysia. It is an exclusive resort of 16 rooms surrounded by lush tropical rainforest. It is located nearby the beautiful Tioman Island featuring Malay designed villas, outdoor pool, 3 dining options and elegant accommodation with a terrace. This place is suitable for a perfect stay from the hustle and bustle of city centre. With its rustic and luxurious features, this accommodation also equipped with amazing facilities and services as well as the view of nature. Besides free Wi-Fi throughout the property, the suites and villas come with classic wooden interiors and windows that provide natural light.

How to Get to Japamala Resort

The hotel is on an island. Tioman Island is only accessible via public ferry from Mersing Jetty or Tanjung Gemok Jetty. Japamala Resort offers various transfer packages from Kuala Lumpur. Please contact property for more information. Alternatively, traveling to Tioman Island is possible with self-arrangement, by driving or taking a land transfer to Mersing Jetty or Tanjung Gemok Jetty, and take public ferry from one of the jetties to Genting Jetty in Tioman Island. Pick-up by Japamala Resort from Genting Jetty the resort can be arranged with additional charge. Reservation of the pick-up is required at least 1 day before arrival with Full name, passport details or Malaysian ID, and ferry details.

Different Type of Rooms in Japamala Resort

The 16 rooms are divided into Tree Top Chalet, Sea Cliff Chalet, Jungle Luxe Sarang, Hillside Sarang, Seaview Sarang, Beach Sarang, and the Penghulu’s House. The rooms are fitted with air-conditioning, Wi-Fi access, flat-screen television, minibars, and coffeemakers. There are also additional features for specific rooms.

Tree top Chalet is a 40 square metre room fitted with 1 large double bed suitable for couples. It is surrounded by the lush greenery and basic amenities including hair dryer, rain shower, Smart TV, minibar, private balcony, and biodegradable amenities.

Sea Cliff Chalet is a 40 square metre room with 1 large double bed located on the edge of a mountain with views of the ocean. The chalets are equipped with basic amenities including hair dryer, rain shower, Smart TV, minibar, private balcony, and biodegradable amenities.

Jungle Luxe Sarang is a 60 square metre room consists of 1 large double bed. It is perfect for newlyweds and senior traveller. It is located at the lower terrain of the resort and near to resort’s main facilities. The room is fitted with an open-air bathtub with biodegradable toiletries and a spacious private balcony to enjoy the great view of nature.

Hillside Sarang is a 60 square metre room with 1 large double bed. This is a Split-level and duplex-style room that built with floor to ceiling glass window. The lower level is a TV lounge with private seating area, equipped with a Smart TV and access to private balcony. The upper level is accessible by staircase, private bathroom and biodegradable amenities.

Seaview Sarang has a size of 75 square metre alongside 1 large double bed. This room is popular among honeymooners or couples who seek romantic ambiance. It is fitted with a lounge area, dining table, kitchenette, coffee machine, and a private balcony. The spacious private balcony features tanning beds, private plunge pool, wading pool, and overlooking the glimpse of sea.

Beach Sarang has a size of 140 square metre. is the resort's newest constructed unit and offers direct access to the beach. This room is built high above ground and covered by lush surroundings, which ensure privacy and seclusions. The room features 1 large double Bed, a separate seating area, Smart TV, minibar, and coffee tea making facilities. The spacious bathroom features rain shower with biodegradable amenities. Beach Sarang also comes with own private deck, which equipped with tanning beds, private pool that overlooking a glimpse of sea view, and a private heated outdoor plunge pool.

The Penghulu's House is a 2-storey villa which covers around 140 square metres. This spacious villa has 2 bedrooms with separate entrance. the first room consists of 1 large double bed and second rom consists of 2 single beds. The unit is suitable for adult family a group of 4 persons. It offers various amenities such as TV lounge with sofa, minibar, coffee tea maker, private balcony with a plunge pool and overlooking partial of the sea. The bathroom features rain shower, private wading pool, and biodegradable amenities.

Japamala resort also provides restaurants on site which are Tamarind Tioman, Il Tempio, and Mandi-Mandi. Tamarind Tioman serves Malaysian cuisine, and it opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the menu offers ala carte style dishes. Il Tiempo is also another restaurant which serves Italian cuisines to guests and only opens to guests for dinner. Mandi-Mandi is one of the Japamala Resort’s most iconic and romantic spots, where guests can have drinks and enjoy a panoramic sea view.
