It is said that in 1926, Chong Sen Yee and his wife Choong Chan Yoke originated from Jiao-Ling province of China, discovered Perak Cave Temple also named “Perak Tong”. After receiving from Perak State Government, they started to develop the cave temple. It was Chong Sen Yee himself who mainly involved in the planning and development of the cave temple while his wife went around to look for fund to carry out the plan. After more than 50 years of attentive and meticulous work in and around the cave temple, Perak Temple has become one of the best cave temples in Malaysia. In 1980, Chong Sen Yee passed away followed by his wife in 1983, passing the heritage to the son, Chong Yin Chat who put even greater effort into the temple and thus making Perak Temple into an international tourist. There are many colourful paintings on the walls on the inner part of the cave. Being visited by not only Buddists, but people from other religions as well, Perak Temple is not being deemed as a religious place only. This place is appreciated by the visitors a destination to unwind and enjoy the calm and tranquil setting.

Han Chin Pet Soo Museum

This Hakka Miners Club-turn- museum was founded by Towkay Leong Fee in 1893. During its glory day, only club members and their VIP guests were allowed to enter the exclusive club. Nowadays, the museum houses a private exhibition, in which visitors are able to get a picture of the lives of Hakka tin miners during the tin mining era. The museum attracted more than 6000 visitors in the first six months since being opened to public in February 2015 and the number of visitors keep increasing. With admission fee of RM10 per adult and RM5 for children), visitors have to make an appointment through online reservation system prior visit.

Enlightened Heart Buddhist Temple

Nestled in a hidden valley in the Tambun district of Ipoh, this Tibetan temple complex consists of 13 storeys pagoda and majestic standing Buddha statue. Listed as one of the most awesome places in this city however, due to its remote location, it appears to be less visited than it deserves. The architechture of the pagoda is uniquely stunning with a huge opening from the 8th floor upwards through which an 11 metre high gold coloured Shakyamuni Buddha statue overlooks hills, ponds, and pomelo farms in the Kinta valley.
