Located at Penampang road, Sabah State Museum was built in 1985 and was previously a British North Borneo Governor's Palace. The museum comprised of Main Building, Science and Education Centre, Heritage Village, Sabah Art Gallery and Museum of Islamic Civilization. Each centre displays different exhibitions. For example, Science and Education Centre consists of three exhibitions which are oil and gas production in Sabah, broadcasting in Sabah and a North Borneo Railway in Sabah. Lok Kawi Wildlife Park -

Started operation on 17th February 2007, Lok Kawi Wildlife Park covers over 280 acres of area and comprised of two parts which are zoological and botanical. It is fully developed by the Sabah Wildlife Department and visitors can reach this park by driving or take a taxi for 30 minutes to an hour drive. The main objective of the park is to create a family-oriented park and highlight in making it to a children’s zoo. The zoological component houses many types of animals such as Proboscis monkey, Malayan tiger and different species of deer. Besides that, there are many species of birds like the hornbill, pigeons, parrots and eagles at the aviary section. The botanical component, on the other hand, offers visitors the opportunity to go jungle trekking along the 1.4-kilometre botanical trail.
