A-ma-zing, that is the best word to describe our stay at this hotel. Although I can write a whole essay on our stay I will try to keep it as compact as possible. You know that feeling which you get when scrolling through social media looking at all those perfect holiday spots? Well this hotel completely lives up to that expectation. This "resort" is very small and private. It consists of approx. 12 villa's, of which several are currently being renovated and a few build new, which all are separated very well to guarantee their privacy. Several of the villa's are located at the seaside, with direct access to the sea. Definitely recommended to choose one of those. Each villa is quite spacious, with a great bathroom and big doors with windows to the garden area with a (bigger than expected) pool. The main area of the resort includes a restaurant (for breakfast, lunch and dinner), a large common pool, a common sand beach (with dartboard), a jeux-de-boules area, a fitness area (with basic equipment, but functional) and a massage house overlooking the ocean. The restaurant offers a very wide range of both common and local dishes for breakfast, which you can choose a-la-carte. For lunch there is very nice and tasty range of options as well. And for dinner there is a 5-course menu with options for the starter, main and dessert. Each meal is an absolute treat, amazingly tasteful, well portioned and presented beautifully. Last but not least, the staff... Just wow, amazingly friendly, very helpful, making everyone feel very welcome, almost as if you are staying with your family. We were here for our honeymoon and to be honest we could not have picked a better place. Highly recommended! Finding something negative for this place is quite a challenge. But if I need to be critical there are only a few things: the beds are too hard, something to be improved. This resort is quite pricey, and although you get an amazing place, great service and high quality, certain things (i.e. lunch if not included, alcohol and taxi's) are very expensive. Certainly compared to the prices to the rest of the island, is very (too?) high. Lastly, the quality of the massages is insufficient. Firstly the massage beds are uncomfortable and the massages themselves are not performed well, something that definitely needs to be improved.

Amazing luxury resort. Incredible location. The staff (Julia, Aleksandra, and the restaurant staff) was very attentive and welcoming. The food was extremely good, compliments for the chef. If you want to feel spoiled and pampered, this is the place to choose. Price on the high level but totally worth it

Zanzi resort offered a charming nice retreat in a beautiful jungle oasis. The property is very well taken care of, and nice, occasional cultural touches here and there were delightful to discover. Our bungalow was very spacious, bed - comfortable, and water pressure was just right. TV had all international channels. Room service - fast and with a smile. We've enjoyed our time at the jetty, pool and just walking around. Food for us, regretfully, didn't work out. During our 3 nights stay we had a feeling that we ended up in a heaven for vegetarians and not in a coastal 5* resort. Extensive dinner cards lacked seafood and even just basic protein options were missing every night. Dishes themselves didn't offer any excitement, lots was sent back after couple of bites. Breakfasts were so-so with lots of ambition on the menu, but lacklustre results. Some of the advertised activities turned out to be not available despite long-standing request and confirmation of. We didn't get to see many animals but could hear their presence around. Hotel's team was outstanding. Everyone was attentive, caring and smiling. Nothing was too big of a bother, and the speed of service caught us by surprise every time! I wouldn't come back to stay exclusively at Zanzi again, but I would definitely include few days here in a longer trip to Zanzibar.

The flavors were exquisite, and the presentation was impeccable. The staff were incredibly attentive and always ensured that I had a delightful dining experience. I took advantage of the spa services, indulging in a rejuvenating massage that left me feeling completely relaxed and pampered. The infinity pool overlooking the ocean was the perfect spot to unwind and soak up the sun. What truly sets Zanzi Resort apart is the exceptional level of service provided by the staff. Every member of the team was professional, courteous, and attentive, ensuring that all my needs were met and exceeded. From arranging transportation to recommending nearby attractions, they were always there to assist me with a smile. In conclusion, Zanzi Resort hotel is a hidden gem that offers an unparalleled luxury experience in Zanzibar. The breathtaking location, exquisite accommodation, delectable cuisine, and impeccable service make it the perfect destination for a romantic getaway or a peaceful retreat. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, and I am already looking forward to my next visit.
