Overall, this property is good. Specially, this place is great for shopping at the outlet. Only problem was that our shower was clogged and so flooded when we took shower. Otherwise, I like this place!

Carlsbad by the Sea is such a hidden gem; only thing we missed — that we were looking forward to — was the hot tub that was closed for maintenance. Everything else was stellar. Would definitely come back :)

Initially I had got a reservation at motel 6, since they had deals on rooms. Let’s just say, I’m glad I cancelled my reservation and swapped over to Carlsbad by the sea hotel! The beds were comfortable, everything was clean and for the most part it was very quiet. To say the least, we had a good experience.

Not everyone can afford expensive luxurious hotels. For the price this one is decent -good for families! Pros: Location, very good customer service (check in lady was very nice to our kids), free parking, free shuttle to Legoland, room was was pretty clean, heated pool, it’s walking distance from a mall and food choices are abundant. But there are some Cons: the aesthetic isn’t the nicest b/c there’s a lot of construction with plastic wrapping a section of the hotel, jacuzzi was closed/empty (pool was open though), towels look very worn, pool furniture is torn, not enough places to charge your phone/near the beds and maybe not the most comfortable bed either. Overall sure it’s needs a little TLC but it’s convienent and good for families. If on a budget, we’d say here again I think.

Like the fact that there was near by shops and restaurants, also had a heated pool for the kiddos to enjoy either in the morning or afternoon.

Didn't have wash cloths or soap. Coffee machine didn't work. Maintenance man replaced it but left our door propped open so when we returned that evening we were surprised and upset that anyone could have come in our room. We reported it next morning to front desk. We have been happy in the past, staying here, but not sure if we will want to stay in the future.

Staff was very friendly. My booked and reserved room was unavailable, and a very subpar room substituted for the first night. Staff found a new room for the remaining nights, but there was much inconvenience associated to it. Rooms were fair in condition and style and acceptably clean.

I wanted to give a 5 star review but the shower had several types of hair in it, all different colors which to me meant several customers. There was also hair in the sheets and the bathroom floor was dirty. Other than the that it was a decent place to stay.

We immediately felt unsafe arriving to the motel. This place is under major repairs/renovations. We tried to check in, but the key didn't work, and the door handle was rusty and stuck. The room was located a stone throw away from a major highway. We didn't feel safe enough to stay, so we explained our converters and requested a refund. However, the General Manager, only provided half of the refund. Who does he think he is to keep our money for no reason when we didn't even get to check in? This is so unethical and disappointing to do before the holidays.

After a long drive all we wanted to do was to be able to rest. Unfortunately the room that it was assigned to us the door didn't lock ,maintenance was sent to fix it. Then we tried to put the heater on because the room was cold and we realized that the heater was not working either 😒 so we called front desk and they sent maintenence again, by the time we were able to go to sleep it was past 10 pm and we were very tired
