Extended Stay America Suites Long Island Melville

I was not happy with my stay. Initially, when I arrived, the hallway outside my room reeked of weed and the room across the hall had it's door open and was playing loud music. The desk clerk (who was very professional) moved my room. However, both rooms had warnings in them that the water would be turned off between 9am and 2pm the next day (making a shower impossible). I called the clerk - he knew nothing - it was not until I returned from my evening out at 11 pm that he finally confirmed the notice was old and should have been removed. Next morning, the shower worked fine, but there was no shampoo in the room. Finally, the "continental breakfast" was basically a choice of oatmeal, a fruit bar, or a tiny pre-packaged muffins - no fruit, no toast, not even milk or creamer for the coffee. Again I asked the new desk clerk if they had creamer - his response "that's what we have" and then turned away. This was not a cheap hotel (Hotels.Com rate cost me $146.00 for the night). For $20 more, I could have and should have stayed at the Hilton across the street, where I'd have been treated like royalty. I won't stay with Extended Stay America in this location again.

The toilet and heater/ac made horrible noises. The room had a weird smell. But the housekeeping did a good job of having it clean and prepared.

Clean and quiet

Spent 5 days, they gave me a room on the 1st floor and the stove was very poor, only one of them worked and make smoke while cooking also the fire alarm went on, was a very bad experience for me as a pregnant woman, the pictures on the site was very different, finally they changed my room the 4th day coz I complained about it and it wasn’t the room that have paid for . Make sure you chose the 3rd floor coz it’s better, I’m not going back I’ve paid for breakfast and there’s nothing call breakfast you give, muffin and coffee that’s it , it’s uhhhhhh 🙄

nice location and comforting stay

My remote wasn’t working staff tried to help but still didn’t work staff was nice enough to switch me to another room however My non smoking room smelled like cigarettes.

Property under construction whole first floor dirty and loud. The breakfast offered is a nasty joke.

Decent rooms, though the whole property is under construction so seems like some things are still a work in progress. The staff was too busy talking with friends to check people in or refill coffee/breakfast stuff.

The bed was old and shaky I want a refund

There were roaches, filthy curtains and hair still in the shower in my room

Absolute horror show of a hotel. Property is dilapidated. My first room had a leak under the sink and a smoke alarm that kept beeping. Told the staff at 8:30am about it and when I came back in the evening it was never fixed. Called them again and they said that maintenance left for the day and they had to change my room. Gave me an “upgraded room” to compensate and the first thing I saw in the bathroom when I walked in was a live roach in the bathroom. Called Orbitz for help and they were useless. Just gave me a $25 credit

I wish I read the reviews before wasting my money at this place . I got to the hotel and they had a sign at the desk that they would Be right back waited 20 mins only to realize the girl was sitting right back there to the side. While waiting to check in I saw multiple people walking in and out and it just looked like a sketchy place, finally checked in get to my room And it smelled so bad. I literally just left my key and walked back out the room . I was gonna complain and check out but it was a long line of people , who just all looked like they live there or was moving out. Literally a waste of my $200 but I just couldn’t stay the night there , It skeeved me out. Last time I was in town and stayed there a few years ago it was not like there. Just terrible, y’all need to stop renting it out if it’s a Shelter or a home for people.

Room had a funky smell.

Book this hotel while home was under renovation Since it was pet friendly, and we would have a kitchenette. To our surprise, upon checking, there was an additional $25 plus tax, pet fee/day which was not indicated when booking. The room was very old and there is nothing stocked inside. You have to ask Frontdesk for everything from shampoo to dishes. Worst of all there was a cockroach running across the floor!! Only good thing I can say is the bed was comfortable

Disgusting hotel. They don’t advertise that it’s a welfare section 8 hotel. They only clean the room every 2 weeks. God forbid you want new sheets and clean towels, you will have to bring the dirty ones to the front desk for replacement. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DIRTY BUG INFESTED HOTEL.

check in was a hassle they were having trouble with the payment. no one was a the desk to check out i wanted a copy of the receipt because of the payment issue and we saw a roach in the room
