Random accident happened in my room- I was in the shower and the photo above the toilet crashed down and cracked the toilet in half--had to immediately change rooms which was annoying. No other solution or accommodations for that accident.

Overall, it's a decent property. I like that they clean rooms daily when many places do not. Food on-site is a definite plus! The staff was professional and helpful. Rooms are large and comfortable.
On the other hand, on arrival, waste baskets had not been emptied from previous guests, and the room smelled like stale McDonalds. The shower needed serious maintenance, and the sink didn't drain. But I was more disturbed by the guest vandalism - a charter port glued into an outlet and a 1/2 eaten apple hidden behind a chair.
But even with these issues, the plusses outweighed the minuses and we had an enjoyable experience - would come back.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, service requests easily made through text if preferred, valet cost was very reasonable. The hotel is clean and has a lovely pool. Food services availabikity was limited and the wi-fi was terrible, which is my one true complaint. Compared to other hotels of the same quality, it was very reasonably priced. I'd return if I didnt have to work remotely.

They have phenomenal customer service from valet thru bellhops, front desk, room service, and restaurants. I’ll definitely recommend The Hilton Del Mar. Cheers!

Incompetent workers at the front desk who do not care for the customer or their needs. Was told we were able to extend our stay by one night at the same rate. They did not let us know that we would need to change rooms. We had to change our daily plans to return to the hotel in a rush. Upon returning, we asked for our new keys and were told we had not paid for the room yet and that it would cost more than we were told. They also did not clearly let us know that parking would be 30 plus dollars a night. Broken sink handles, broken side door, and broken towel hanger. Uncomfortable beds and slow internet. Will not stay here again even if it’s free.

This is an older hotel that was once very elegant and it has retained much of that appeal and charm but it could use a really deep makeover. On the other hand it was a great big room, quiet with comfy couch and bed at a good price. We would definitely stay there again.
