Extremely small room and Bathroom. The lighting in the room was not enough so it was very dark in the room during the evenings. Only one elevator serving 4 floors meaning the wait time was long. The hairdryer would stop after 20 seconds and had to wait for it to cool down for another 20 seconds of usage.

Property was average because the room service was not so good, for instance they forgot to place soaps one day so we were running out of soap, another day they forgot to place new paper towels, and so on. A good plus was the breakfast included, and the best part the location of the hotel.

Great hotel. My family has stayed here before as well. It’s a short walk from so many things, but quiet and reasonably priced, plus a great breakfast.

We were given a disabled room (not needed) and therefore a wet room which of course stays wet which isn't practical at all. The room was cold and the sofa bed had slats missing. It was also very dark, there were only a few very small lights. The location of the hotel is good for visiting all the tourist attractions. The breakfast is reasonable although there could be more choices. The staff were helpful and friendly.

We truly enjoy our stay at the Holiday Inn Express - Cowgate. Everything was perfect and met our expectations.

The hotel was well situated near all of the attractions. About a 10 -15 minute walk. Breakfast is included with the booking. Had a good enough selection, eggs, bacon, beans, sausage. One thing I noticed was how unfriendly most of the front desk were, except for the first guy we spoke to during check in, I forgot to get his name but he was really friendly and even suggested a lot of places where to eat. But we didn’t see him anymore after the first day. We just stayed for a couple of days. The others didn’t even greet you in the morning and would even try to avoid eye contact.

It’s within a walking distance to where we have to be.

Had a nice stay here. The lights in the rooms need to be brighter. Not good for make up or reading. But clean and comfortable.

Close to the Royal Mile and train station. Hotel was good, but could use an update.
