Together with Others, Immerse your Entire Body, Perceive with your Body, and Become One with the World

teamLab Planets is a museum where you walk through water, and a garden where you become one with the flowers. It comprises 4 large-scale artwork spaces and 2 gardens created by art collective teamLab.

Pointillism uses an accumulation of distinct dots of color to create a picture. Here, light points are used to create three-dimensional objects. The light sculpture extends infinitely in all directions. This artwork is forever evolving, changing from moment to moment due to the people in the space.

Koi swim on the surface of water that stretches out into infinity. The movement of the koi is influenced by the presence of people in the water and also other koi. When the fish collide with people they turn into flowers and scatter. Throughout a year, the flowers that bloom will change along with the seasons.

People go barefoot and immerse their entire bodies in the vast artworks together with others. The artworks change under the presence of people, blurring the perception of boundaries between the self and the works. Other people also create change in the artworks, blurring the boundaries between themselves and the works, and creating a continuity between the self, the art, and others.

Flowers and I are of the Same Root, the Garden and I are One

Many installations at teamLab Planets TOKYO are motion-sensitive, which means they respond to your movements to make your experience a truly unique one. You're not just a spectator but will become an active participant in the art installation. Let your imagination run wild, get teamLab Planets TOKYO tickets now!

At that time, I was lucky to have booked on this date, because on that day there was a big storm in Tokyo, so at that time I was also worried that it would be closed because I didn't know whether it was indoor or outdoor, but it turned out to be indoor and the contents inside were really nice, with that price I could repeatedly enter the rides, it was really worth it, I just had to queue and arrive on time because it was fully booked every day.

The place is beautiful, but due to the large number of visitors, the staff may not be able to clean it quickly enough. Some rooms have limited time, and it is difficult to take pictures.

Great, happy with the atmosphere in each area, surreal in essence... Exchanging tickets is also very easy, just scan and enter directly. I came with an elderly person in a wheelchair, the staff was very responsive and very helpful, in each section there was always someone to direct us and we were given wheelchairs from Teamlab Planets because of the cleanliness factor in the exhibition area.

1. Water Area

Location and How to get to teamLab Planets TOKYO

Located at Toyosu 6-1-16 in Koto-ku, Tokyo, teamLab Planets is a must-see digital art museum where you walk through water and interact with larger-than-life, immersive light displays. Wondering how to get there? Here are the different options depending on your mode of transportation:

By Train

If you're travelling by train, getting to teamLab Planets is easy! The nearest station is Shin-Toyosu Station on the New Transit Yurikamome line, and from there it's a 1-minute walk to the museum. If you're coming from Toyosu Station on the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line, it's a 10-minute walk. You can also get off at Shijoumae Station or Toyosu Market and take a 5-minute walk.

By Taxi

Planning to take a taxi? It's about 10 minutes from Ginza or 15 minutes from Tokyo Station. Be careful when you arrive: taxis cannot stop directly at the entrance due to security reasons, so be sure to follow the instructions of the on-site security staff when exiting.

Here's a quick tip for your driver: from Ginza, drive straight down Harumi Street towards Ariake, turn left at the Harumi Ohashi Minamizume traffic light, and teamLab Planets will be on your left. Similarly, from Tokyo Station, walk straight towards Sotobori-dori and follow the signs to Ginza and Harumi-dori.

By Car

If you prefer driving, here’s a perk for weekday visitors: free parking for one hour at LaLaport Toyosu! Just show your same-day ticket from teamLab Planets to the parking reception at Urban Dock LaLaport TOYOSU, and enjoy an hour of complimentary parking.

Shuttle Bus Service

There’s also a dedicated shuttle bus service available from GINZA SIX, making it a convenient choice if you're staying or shopping around the area. Be aware, though, that public buses running from Tokyo Station, Ginza, and Tsukiji tend to get quite congested, so it’s a good idea to consider the shuttle bus or another form of public transport to avoid the crowds.

From Haneda Airport

If you're flying into Tokyo and want to head straight to the art experience, it’s about 15 minutes by highway from Haneda Airport. Take the Metropolitan Expressway Wangan Line, and then merge onto the Harumi Line at the Shinonome Junction. Exit at Toyosu, turn right at the Harumi Ohashi Minamizume traffic light, and you'll soon see the museum on your left. It’s a quick and easy drive!
