There are only a few surviving original Art Deco buildings in the city. Today, one of the remaining architectural masterpieces stands in one of Festival Mall’s newest wings. Formerly known as the Alabang Serum and Vaccine Laboratory (ASVL), the white building with its partially dilapidated sculpture of a naked woman, is visible from the mall’s east wing. The striking ASVL served as a venue for many “miraculous” events where patients suffering from insect bites, cobra attacks, and even tuberculosis would come and receive the lifesaving cure.

The River Park in Festival Mall is surprisingly one of the best places in Alabang to relax and appreciate nature. Despite being part of a giant shopping complex, the River Park’s sprawling greens and excellent integration of water features, makes it a great place to unwind strategically in between the best of both worlds (mall & nature).
