I Love Backyard BBQ is a Boracay staple. Don’t let its simple exterior fool you! Not only is this place always packed with customers, they also serve some of the best ribs this side of the beach. If you want something tried and tested, that fills up your tummy for a long day of activities ahead, this is the place for you. (Our tip: Order a cold San Mig to go with your meal!)

If you’ve ever had a bite of those sweet and tangy calamansi muffins before, Real Coffee & Tea Café is where they call home sweet home. Thanks to the surge in local tourism, what once was a hole-in-the-wall restaurant along Station 1 has now evolved into a full-blown restaurant in Station 2, complete with beach-themed bars and tables, plus Instagram friendly interiors.

For some people, just because you’re by the beach doesn’t mean you have an excuse to binge on junk food! Keep that hard-earned summer body fit and clean by dining at Nonie’s. This highly-rated restaurant takes your classic Asian dishes and changes the game by adding in healthier alternatives—grains instead of rice, fruits instead of sugars. What’s more, they endeavor to keep it local by using ingredients from local communities. Good for the body and good for Boracay, what more can you ask for?

Enjoy a hot pizza by the beach when you dine at Aria Cucina Italiana. With stylishly decorated food, they aim to serve the best of Italy’s finest staples with a tropical twist. The interiors are also very cozy and modern, though many prefer to see the waves by eating al fresco. This place got so popular that they even opened up a branch in The Fort, BGC, Manila!

If your wallet is suffering from all the wakeboarding and paragliding lessons you availed of in one day, Smoke Resto hits that perfect sweet spot between budget eating and deliciously unforgettable dining. Founded in 2004, it’s not the most glamorous place to dine with its cramped spaces and elbow-to-elbow seating. But that’s part of the experience, as you’re surrounded by an ambiance of Filipino hospitality, smoke by the grill, and the smell of savory Pinoy dishes executed to perfection.

Plato D’Boracay is another well-loved local staple. Situated near the fish market, this humble restaurant offers the finest seafood and Pinoy favorites, for a fraction of the cost compared to other Boracay restaurants. It’s so well-loved that it consistently gets high ratings from both local and foreign sojourners. This is a must-try if you’re up for low maintenance spending for high-value food!

Lemoni Café gives a revitalizing new take on Mediterranean cuisine, right at the heart of the Boracay islands. Although some dishes are a little expensive, they make up for it with the quality of their food, always freshly prepared and well-made. The interiors are also classy without being too intimidating, making gourmet accessible to all visitors who pass by.

Streetmarket at Boracay is their first ever food hall which houses quality stalls that vary in cuisine. If you want a quick Japanese fix, or you’re craving for guac, this is the place to be in Boracay. Situated near the beach, you don’t have to wander far to satisfy your tastebuds with international delicacies at reasonable prices and servings. Plus, the interiors are very chic, without overpowering the call of the sand, sea, and shore! Take a picture of your food, post it on Instagram, before chowing down.

Los Indios Bravos is the kind of restaurant that exudes a cosmopolitan vibe without bordering on pretentiousness. Located in one of the more popular beaches in Boracay—Bulabog Beach—you can call over the barkada after a long day by the sea for cold beer from the tap, and hearty, almost sinfully delicious food that will make you say “Treat yoself!”

Halowich appropriately tops off this list of must-try restaurants in Boracay. This is a craving for many past visitors to the beach, as it serves some of the most photogenic and refreshing ice cream and bingsu this side of Station 2. Flocked by both local tourists and foreigners, Halowich is a staple in any Boracay gastronomic itinerary.
