The sprawling 12-hectare community was designed with European and Filipino motifs in mind and is one of the most pedestrian-friendly places in Metro Manila. Serendra is located on the 11th avenue and it’s usually open the whole day (except for the establishments that follow their own operating times).

Often referred to as a “Little piece of Italy in the Philippines,” you and your loved ones can enjoy the colorful and beautiful architecture of the structure while aboard a gondola. After that, you can go shopping or grab a bite at one of the many restaurants in The Venice Grand Canal Mall. It is located at Cluster B, McKinley Hill Garden Villas by the Upper McKinley Road.

Taguig is home to several expats and yuppies, so its no surprise that the environment is a reflection of such. With plenty of “blank canvasses” available on the sides of several buildings, commissioned artists have taken over the dull spaces and brought them to life with colorful murals. From paintings of flowers to pop arts, there are different paintings per building making it a treat for pedestrians and everyone else passing by. The Turf is where several teams or groups of friends play a game or two of soccer. The field is made to FIFA’s standards, has movable bleachers and use ternate yarn for the field. They’re open to hosting futsal, flag football and ultimate frisbee tournaments. In fact, during summer, you can see kids as young as four all geared up and ready for soccer practice. The Turf football field is located on 8th avenue and is open rain or shine.

If you’re a fan of skateboarding or if you’re looking to try out something treacherously new, why don’t you try skateboarding around town. Almost every afternoon or late evening, you’re bound to see young adults taking up empty streets and skateboarding back and forth. You can either join in on the fray or look for another spot to skate on your own. More often than not, security officials have no issues with the skateboarders as they usually keep to themselves and don’t cause trouble, but in the event security asks you to stop or to move elsewhere, avoid trouble and please do so.

They actually teach you how to fly. Yes, you read that correctly. They offer trapeze classes that start at P800 which is inclusive of an instructor and safety gear. Children as young as six years old may avail of the classes, though everyone who is 18 and below will need a waiver signed by their parent or guardian. Classes are made up of 10 students, regardless of skill level and experience.

This tunnel was built in 1936 and was used throughout World War 2 as a route for military supplies. It is now being renovated and awaiting conversion to a museum. You can also visit Heroes’ Cemetery to pay homage to former Philippine presidents, national artists, scientists and other patriots. There’s also the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, which is the final resting place to 17,206 fallen soldiers.

Burgos Circle is a gastronomical heaven for foodies looking for the next best restaurant and the most Instagrammable plates of food. There are a number of restaurants and places to grab a drink in the area, including picks like The Bowery - where you can relax and enjoy a couple of drinks, Namaste India - if you feel like having some South East Asian delicacies, PepeRosso - which serves real Napoli-style pizza, and Bondi & Bourke - for what is often referred to as Modern Australian dining.
