Have you watched Eat, Pray, Love starring Julia Roberts? Well, spoiler alert (not really) because Bali was one of the primary locations for the movie and it’s pretty obvious why. Bali has been and forever will be the most popular tourist destination in our lovely neighbor, Indonesia.

This dreamy destination is one of 17,000 islands in Indonesia that flaunts its pristine beaches and one of the most spectacular coastlines ever seen.

Bali is home to many gorgeous beaches, from Seminyak to Keramas Beach with its black volcanic sand.

Interesting to note here, Bali is made up of four smaller islands where the other three are Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan.

From mainland Bali, you can take a 20-minute-boat ride from Sanur Airport to reach those smaller islands. They are pretty much considered hidden gems there, so make sure to add them to your itinerary.

If Bali is not enough, you can explore other exciting places in Indonesia! You’ll be amazed at the number of amazing sights you can even revisit.

How to Get to Bali from the Philippines?

There are direct flights from Manila to Bali’s main airport - Ngurah Rai International Airport, also called Denpasar International Airport.

Travel time via direct flights takes around four hours and five minutes. Transit flights can be longer, even up to 30 hours. Thus, depending on your needs, urgency, and comfort, pick your route carefully to avoid any unwanted waiting hours at your end.

I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport or Denpasar Airport is situated 13 kilometers from Denpasar City – the capital of Bali.

The second busiest airport in Indonesia, it is the best airport in terms of the facilities offered. There are also some lounge areas where they were fully equipped with children's play areas and cinemas.

From the airport to your lodging, there are several modes of transportation available: taxis, vans, and rental cars.

If you choose a taxi, make sure you agree on a fare before getting on.
A van is another airport transfer option that is more affordable.
Car rentals are expensive but are more comfortable. You can opt to have a driver or drive on your own.

Airlines that Fly from Manila to Bali

Philippine Airlines, AirAsia, Cebu Pacific, Scoot, Garuda Indonesia, and Singapore Airlines are some of the primary airlines operating in Bali.

If you book your ticket a few months early, you can get a price range from PHP 6,600 to PHP 8,700 for a one-way trip.

Take note that for these cheap flights, only 7kg of hand-carry luggage is included. You have to purchase separate check-in baggage.

Meanwhile, full-service airlines such as Garuda Indonesia and Singapore Airlines provide passengers with check-in baggage, free meals on the flight, and more legroom. However, you’ll have to shell out more.

What are the Best Places to Visit in Bali?

Seminyak Beach

Seminyak Beach is home to many delicious restaurants and has some of the best beach bars that allow you to enjoy the panoramic sunsets while having fun.

If you are looking to party, Mexicola is one of the most popular new bars in Seminyak. Drop by and have a blast night partying by the beach!

There are various other amazing bars, but bear in mind most of the bars here are more expensive. You might want to check your budget, too.

If partying is not up to your alley, you can hit up the spas instead, and enjoy some quality massages. Then, have brunch after at the delicious restaurants by the sea

Pay a visit to Prana Spa Bali that not only looks exclusive by its splendid interior, but you can also get those massages, facials, and exotic treatments at an affordable rate as this spa caters to mid-range prices. Most of the spas here open daily and up till night.

Another thing that you can do is surf the waves or just have a lazy sun-tanning session on the shores while enjoying the splendid view of the beautiful beach.

There are plenty of five-star hotels and just a few footsteps away from the accommodation, where fun and sleep are only some footsteps away.

Jimbaran Beach

Jimbaran is a quaint and beautiful fishing town in Bali. The vibe here is more tranquil and relaxing.

As the water here is not wavy, it is perfect for visitors to go for a swim. Jimbaran has four kilometers of glimmering golden powder-like sand where you can see little warungs at the shores for you to grab your lunch after sun-tanning at the beach.

Other than that, you can book a fishing trip where you get to catch your lunch. This would be an amazing experience for those that bring along their children, where they got to fish their food, how fun is that!

Close to Jimbaran, stop by Suluban Beach, one of the island's gorgeous spots.

Dramatic limestone rock formations surrounded it, and to reach the sandy beach. You might need to walk down some of the steep steps at the beach. What will greet you, in the end, is the turquoise water with blue skies.

Nusa Islands

The Nusa islands are three separated islands: Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Penida and Nusa Ceningan.

To reach Nusa Lembongan Island, you will need to ride a 25-minute-boat ride at Sanur Port.

The view at Nusa Lembongan is so beautiful. You will catch yourself just staring at the distance of this breathtaking view.
You can kick back and relax at the beach. Once you’re bored with that, you can take a cruise through the mangrove forest to marvel at the cliffs and rock formations crafted by the waves.

Nusa Penida

From Nusa Lembongan, you can take a small boat from Yellow Bridge to go island hopping to the next destination – Nusa Penida.
At Nusa Penida, you can rent a scooter and explore the area yourself!
One of the stops that you want to check out is Crystal Bay. Just like the name, Crystal bay has the most beautiful view there is. You can see a tall rocky island with a temple on it.
Unfortunately, you can only enjoy the view of the temple from afar because it is not open to visitors.
Fret not. You can do other activities here like renting a boat and snorkeling in its clear water.

Nusa Ceningan

You can reach Nusa Ceningan by walking the bridge connecting the island to Nusa Lembongan.
Nusa Ceningan is a smaller island compared to Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida, but it has its own attraction.
