To ensure everyone’s safety during these times, tourists must abide by the standard operating procedures being implemented throughout their stay in Penang.
1. Pack light. Bring only the necessities and essentials so you can move around with ease.
2. Safety and emergency kit. When traveling during the pandemic, always be informed of the Covid-19 situation at your traveling destinations. Make sure all the documents or tests required are available before departure.
3. Bring your own hygienics or health kit. Have a small bag to keep all your extra face masks, hand sanitizer, wet tissue, and other essentials during these special times.
4. Be prepared for the rainy season. Malaysia’s tropical weather is typically hot, sunny, and humid. But during May to September, there will be a rainy season in the south-west while in November to March, the Monsoon is in the north-east (East peninsular).
If your destination is a beach you might want to avoid the rainy season for your travel, especially at the East Peninsular.
5. Obey the SOPs. Even though the vaccinated population in Malaysia is high, the variants of the virus made COVID-19 are still alive and well. We are still exposed to the risks. Thus, we must abide by the SOPs in place and be vigilant to COVID-19 safety measures.
