This place looked great in the photos and is in a beautiful location, so I booked a room and the breakfast buffet online.
FOR FUTURE GUESTS: find another place for your vacation until the changes below are made! DO NOT PAY for breakfast, but instead go into town and enjoy a good meal at a reasonable price.
Management, you own a beautiful place with so much potential!
Here are some pointers for your business if you care to keep it going:
*INVEST IN CUSTOMER SERVICE: when calling with a question and upon arrival Wednesday 7/8, the receptionist was very rude as if we were bothering her. I also witnessed her being extremely rude to a family with children for whom the room was not going to be ready to check in until 6pm. She told them they would “just have to wait, but could not stay in the hallway.” The gentleman said they had already waited for 2 hours at that point. Reach out to me, I would be more than happy to provide some coaching sessions!
Note: **The lady working at the cafeteria that evening was a sweetheart**
*HIRE GOOD CLEANING CREW: when we opened the room it smelled like rotten eggs. Upon entering the bathroom it became obvious that the smell was coming from the shower drain. After letting the water run for a while and opening all windows and doors, the smell subsided. Carpet, curtains, and chairs had questionable stains. Beds and sheets were okay. Dirty windows. Dirty light switches. Toilet (1980s model at best) had stains. Shower was dirty.
*REMODEL/UPGRADE YOUR BUILDING: peeling paint, malfunctioning locks, old wooden windows, a TV from the 90s with 3 channels. Bathrooms are old and need to be replaced. Entire flooring needs to be replaced. Water pressure in the shower is too low and it was nearly impossible to regulate to a good temperature. The mini- fridge was not cold. No instructions for logging in to the WIFI. This is 2024, not 1924!
*PROVIDE QUALITY FOOD AT THE BREAKFAST BUFFET: The eggs were disgusting: rubbery and tasteless. The coffee was undrinkable, very bitter. I tried 3 different types and they were all bad. The deli was room temperature, the rolls were stale, the milk was gross, pudding was expired, even the apples tastes odd. Furthermore, the silverware and plates were not clean.
*PROVIDE SUPPLEMENTARY DRINKS/ FREE MINI-PUTT: provide free tea/ coffee/ water to your paying guests and allow them to play one free game of miniputt at a reserved timeslot.
*GET RID OF THE CREEPY OWL MASCOT!
As a business owner I understand that it is imperative to make a profit but you have to provide RELEVANT VALUE.
The value you offer is mediocre at best. I am sending this email to management as well.
