I Absolutely & Thoroughly enjoyed my 5 days stay at the Hotel Nacional Rio De Janeiro. The ;Entire staff were Extremely Friendly, Courteous, Helpful in the language barrier and offering of assistance to get from the hotel to any of my desired attractions/destinations in the city. I must say I am so Pleased that I chose this hotel for my vacation stay! I will never forget this hotel experience, My room - Junior Suite overlooking the ocean and mountain side beside the hotel. WOW!!! I took plenty of pictures. Must see at sunrise with the curtains open! I'm just so Happy I stayed here. I would advise Anyone traveling to Rio de Janeiro to stay at the Hotel Nacional! You will not be Disappointed. 2 Thumbs Up!!!

Worth every penny just for the kids space. My 6 year old son loved it and begged to play there every day, the kids space staff are fun and friendly and having the option to drop him off there was amazing to give my husband and I some alone time. The only disappointment was the pool, it was very dirty with cloudy water and chunks of hair and bugs floating around in it. The location of the hotel is also a little sketchy, not the safest, and not on a great part of the beach. But overall great place to stay with kids, we will definitely stay here again.

The staff were all very attentive and made us feel so welcome. The rooms was absolutely brilliant and so clean. The ladies at the spa made my partner and I fall asleep a few times during our spa massages, it was that good. They have a bar on the beach with chairs and umbrellas for the guests staying at the hotel and it made such a big difference. There is a lovely restaurant on the 30th floor with the most amazing food. It was a very lovely vacation. Highly recommended

It's like a good 4 star hotel. The loby, pool and beach seems like 5 star and not bad but the food is just average. Breakfast buffet is soulless.. We ordered from room service the whole 3 nights that we stayed and we were never happy with the food, because it's not like 5 star hotel quality, it's as I said just average meal. Service is good in the hotel in all departments that we experienced. Staff can speak English. I don't know where those reviews come from. Rooms are very nice. Good size, comfortable bed, good ac and nice view.. Beside of the food it's a very good hotel..

Currently here on our 3rd day and besides one staff member who helped us during check in, it has been a horrible experience. Staff does not acknowledge you unless you’re constantly throwing money at them. Does not want to help with helping you find places to eat, excursions or anything at all really if you dont speak Portuguese. Our room really only gets a change of towels and the garbage bin changed. Everything else is left untouched and trash outside of the bin is left inside.Lobby literally stinks and at first i thought it was just the strong ocean scent but its more like fish and garbage. Breakfast is horrible, like very much courtyard level or motel level food. Havent heard good things about all the other restaurants here so didnt even bother. I wish they would realize people work hard to be able to visit their countries and have some relaxation the same way they work hard for their money, some friendly hospitality would go a long way here. Do better Brazil.
