A super competitive hotel based on location, 1930s historical buildings and garden, price, and services. About 3 minutes walk to main subway lines and one of the major streets in city center Hengshan road. Surrounded by beautiful alleys to discover local lifestyles. 1-2 minutes walk to Yongpingli where has different flavors of western restaurants. An approximately $10 per person breakfast is a must try. You will get both very authentic Shanghai and general western dishes. The entire property is clean and comfortable. Staffs are friendly and helpful.

5 minute walk to the Metro. In a quiet neighborhood. Staff was friendly but with limited English (although better than other hotels I stayed in China). Room had a view of Pudong Skyscrapers when there was no smog. Great breakfast.

Couldn't find the hairdryer, so not sure if there is one. The heating switched itself off midnight for some reason but came back on afterwards. Otherwise, love the small and cosy room with a balcony. The bed was great!

Somewhat disappointed in the accommodations, compared to previous locations in the city for comparable prices, but there were some issues with housekeeping and management concerns: 1) Upon checking in, my room had a half-used bottle of body wash. 2) While the hotel provided currency exchange, no receipts were provided to enable a reverse exchange.
