The hotel provides services as other 4-5-star hotel does, including breakfast, afternoon tea and light dinner, but the facilities are very dated, for example the rugs in the public area are not pleasant to see.
I would not return to this hotel for my next visit for sure if the hotel remains the same condition.

Location - not the best if you want to walk around at night to explore.
Also, no money exchange. It is the only 5 star hotel I ever stayed in China that does not exchange foreign currency.

The hotel is located 20-30 minutes by car from the city center and 10-15 minutes from the Ice and Snow festival locations.
Nice upscale hotel, friendly staff however communication to most of the staff is very limited if you do not speak Chinese.
Luxury hotel that with some more attention to employes English communication skills can be a gem for tourists as well.

Exceptional hotel with amazing staff from being welcomed on arrival by the doorman, quick and efficient check-in, an upgrade to a suite, excellent quality food for in-room dining, full western and Asian buffet available for breakfast plus pleasant and efficient staff serving.
For those that gym or bodybuilder the dumbells are in excess of 20kgs, a rarity in most hotel fitness rooms. This hotel has a GYM, not a fitness room.
Check-out was very efficient as well.

Kempinski is a good choice for Harbin. The room was nice. But there was a minor maintenance issue. Service was quite good. Inside the hotel is the Paula Brauner restaurant, which serves great German food and beer. At night, the restaurant staged entertainment - a band from Cuba. Not much surrounding Kempinski. You'll likely have to eat meals at the hotel. Breakfast buffet was tasty.
