I was here about 7 years ago (I know, late review) and had to live in one of these rooms for nearly 3 months. My bad memories stem mostly from having to live in a hotel room for 3 months. But it really wasn't that bad, everything worked, and it was reasonably clean when I first arrived. Bed was okay (far better than my bed in my apartment in Chengdu!) It certainly was an older hotel and could use a renovation, but all things considered, it was a good experience there.

I have travel to Shanghai more than 40 times in past 10 years and this is most awful hotel I have ever stayed. The room is small and services is awful. Everything in the room is falling apart.

I visit this area often. Trust me when I say that booking this place will be something that you will regret. Short staffed, dirty rooms and old building.

Terrible.

It is the dirtiest and most abandoned hotel I have ever seen in my life. The photos they publish on the web are lies. It is true that they are doing renovations, but they are removing debris and miscellaneous objects in the hall where, by the way, they park motorbikes. The corridors of the rooms are warehouses of refrigerators, furniture and air conditioners, the carpets are full of stains, the rooms stink, most of the lights do not work and you have to get out of bed to turn off the light . The comment that you have to wait half an hour between showers is true. The furniture is tattered, the walls are peeling, the curtains have never been washed and, to top it all off, there are beetles. We ran away from it.
