I really enjoyed my time here. The rooms are clean, tidy, air conditioned and beds are comfortable too. I liked the location a lot, it's a bit isolated but at the same time conveniently located around the middle of the island. If you cannot drive a scooter the location may be unsuitable for you. Besides Madi and his family were helpful and attentive at all times. The only downside to mention is that the advertised breakfast leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion, literally the options are tea, Bali coffee and two slices of bread. In short, I would come repeat at Uma Hostel without blinking twice!

Comfy, spacious dorms with 4 beds and 2 bathrooms in each. Super helpful owner who offers pick up from the harbour and back and sorts out tours and rents scooters. Also offered to drop me off across the bridge/to beach since I don't drive a scooter. Great value fkr money, highly recommend.

Made and his family were very accomodating and welcoming during my stay. Clean rooms and bathroom, pickup from the ferry and simple breakfast included. The location of this hostel is also great. Very central to access all parts of the island. I became very sick with bali belly, and Made drove me to the medical centre because I was too weak to drive. I really recommend this stay if you just need somewhere simple and affordable. Good wifi for digital nomads. Suksama!

Owner went into one of the rooms and did not realise someone was still there on the top bed. He thought he was alone, opened a girl's locker and WENT THROUGH HER BAG. He was trying to steal from her (and he might have succeeded). He's been recorded by the person who was on the top bed. It is clear in the video that he opened the girl's red bag. His excuse in another review below is "why would I go into the room to steal something if I told you beforehand that I was going into the room to fix the lockers key?": the answer is that A- he never told anyone that he was going to fix "the key", "the lock" or whatever. B- he was clearly trying not to be seen/caught. C- WHY WOULD HE OPEN HER RED BAG AND START TRYING TO FIND SOMETHING? This was probably not the first time.

Amazing owners!! Family run hostel that go above and beyond. Booked cheap taxis for us! Got the best deals on ferry transport. Gave us scooter lifts as my friend had an accident. Constantly gave really helpful advice for day trips and locations. Such friendly lovely people. Jam and toast breakfast was gorgeous with tea and coffee. Rooms were massive with two bathrooms for every 4 people! Room has great aircon. Beds were comfy. Only flaw I would say is location. Tourist places are 15-20 minute walk away like beaches, devils tear etc. If you can ride a scooter, location is perfect because it gives you a chance to ride. Everywhere is 5 minute scooter away!
