Holiday Inn Express EXETER EAST, an IHG Hotel

Clean room, not too hot. Friendly and helpful staff. Bed Ok

Second time staying here. Everything was excellent as before which is why we went back.

Check in was polite and ok but I was asked if they could take the payment off my card and I seemed to have trouble being understood that I had already paid and no, they couldn’t take another payment off my card. Resolved after a few minutes. Also disappointed that I had to pay for parking. I had not seen any mention of this on the web site

Great stay with very helpful and informative staff. Cheaper parking code provided plus some items, eg. Toothbrush available as a complimentary which is helpful as I forgot mine.

Being charged for parking is a joke and the bed was too small!!!

It was one of the worst beds I’ve ever slept in that I ended up with a bad back. The pillows were so hard and huge that I wasn’t even able to use them. Perhaps holiday inn need to invest in some decent mattresses and better quality pillows

Found it noisy when people used their bathrooms.

Breakfast was not great. Premier inn provided better Breakfast

All excellent except when validating parking on arrival the machine is under cover before the hotel entrance however this area correctly is signed no smoking but people were smoking. I asked them to move which they did eventually but it is disgusting trying to input details whilst being poisoned but cigarette smoke. Shame staff cannot use CCTV to enforce this

The room was a little bit on the small side, but it was a standard double so that was expected. It was very nice and clean but the downfall was noise. it was noisy from the road outside but even worse it was noisy from inconsiderate customers woken up and down the corridor talking on mobile phones loudly after midnight. Another customer came back around half past one and starts crashing about in the room next door and talking very loudly had doors banging ended up not getting hardly any sleep. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay and you want to get some sleep go somewhere else because this place is very noisy at night but cleanliness is quite good

Warm welcome. It was close to where i needed to be for a meeting. Food was nice and it was good to be able to have an evening meal. Clean and tidy in the reception and restaurant area. We would stay again.

Fantastic stay as always

the hotel was clean and tidy seeing as the rooms are on the tired side. The bar and restaurant area is most uninviting small hard sofas chairs and overall very sparse not comfortable for guests. It would take that much to make it more cosy.

Didn’t make it for my stay at all, tried to contact hotel, got no reply. Dreadful customer service, won’t make that mistake again. Avoid

Fab accommodation, room great, comfortable and clean. Only thing was we were above reception and smokers in and out of door all night & early morning.

Comfortable

The hotel was good. The main downside was the dimness of the lighting in the room. We are bright light people and found it quite gloomy. Perhaps have the main light on a dimmer switch?
