reception staff always friendly, rooms are as you would expect for a budget hotel, clean but on the verge of getting a little tired in some areas. i have stayed here numerous times and never had a bad stay. breakfast is OK. would and am staying again.

A long weekend with the family. The location was ideal for all our needs. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The only negative was limited plug sockets in the room (2). Everything else was perfect.

Lovely Holiday Inn Express, great, friendly staff, plentiful breakfast. As with a lot of hotels a frustrating lack of power outlets next to the bed plus we had a small leak in the shower but otherwise a most enjoyable stay. Great location.

Overall, it was a nice comfortable stay for a long weekend. Staff were very friendly but the vegetarian (egg free) choice at breakfast, was somewhat limited. The rubber seal in the shower cubicle needs attention, but the Dove hand and shower gels, were fab.

One night stay before an early flight from Newcastle. Rate included breakfast but we were up and out before it started there was coffee but nothing else on offer. I have stayed at other HI hotels where they give a grab bag to take away. The room was clean comfy and quiet. The restaurant area was like a school canteen very basic and no ambience but the service was good. Would stay again for the convenience and quiet.

We stayed here the night before our morning flight at Newcastle airport. We arrived around 6pm and got checked in quickly. Rooms were spacious and clean as were the toilets. Unfortunately our room had a broken window making the room very noisy during the night. Not ideal with a toddler and baby. We could no request a room swap as the children had fallen asleep prior to heading back to the room and waking them to do this was not an option.
