Great stay prior to flying from Luton, if you don’t fancy staying in hotel for drinks then the Colney fox is a short walk away. However the hotel drinks are reasonably priced and nice seating area to the front.

Hotel looks quite nice from outside, however room was quite basic and carpets were stained. Breakfast was fine in line with other hotels within the price range.

The stay was fine. However the room had a strange whistling sound coming from the air vent. Even with the A/C off. It seemed to disappear around midnight and returned in the morning. The room smelt a bit dusty but was clean. The only other let down was breakfast. Going down at 9am was a bit of a mistake. They were out of hash brown, sausages, scrambled eggs and then beans. They were restocked but at all different times and as it was a busy time everything became out of sync and we ended up getting separate plates with individual items on them as the food was being replenished at different times. However, the staff were friendly and trying their best. I would stay here again as it’s was cheap and cheerful and was exactly where I needed to be.

I love this Holiday inn because it was easy to park and a very safe and quiet place to go to. One thing I didn't like was my mum's bedroom at one night when I switched on the heating up to 26 degrees to warm up her room to sleep. Then next night the heating seemed to be not working and my mum caught a cold afterward.

I liked the hotel. The staff were accommodating and the hotel was quite smart apart from the lobby chairs which were stained. The bed was very comfortable and the room was good. My only problem was with the breakfast. The way the room worked was that foot traffic travelled around a central area in a clockwise direction with food and drinks/toasters etc on both sides of a walkway about 3-4 foot wide. When I arrived the coffee machine was broken so a backlog of people were waiting in this area whilst other guests were trying to pass through collecting their breakfasts meaning that it was extremely cramped with people shoving into other people and leaving no space for anyone else to wait or pass through the area. I sat down to wait for 10 minutes and tried again but it was still exactly the same. I got barged into twice whilst in the queue for a coffee. I sat down again and waited another 10 minutes. When there was finally enough space for me to pass there were no croissants left. I asked a staff member if there were any more and she said no. I looked around the carousel. 1 rasher of greasy bacon. 2 hash browns. No eggs, no beans no sausages. I decided to just have a piece of toast but when I walked round to the toaster it had been turned off. The coffee machine had also been turned off and the pancake maker so I ended up with NO breakfast or coffee even though we’d arrived in the breakfast area at 9.25am. This was a very poor show. Shame, could have been avoided.

A perfectly average hotel, nothing particularly special, nothing particularly bad. Handy for supermarket, fast food and motorway. This obviously brings traffic noise, uninspiring surroundings.

Ideal for a couple, not for families. We have a toddler and a 9 month old, we had to have a pull out bed for the toddler and a cot for the baby. We barely fit into the room it was so so small. There were empty bottles in the bathroom, the bins weren’t emptied. The rooms aren’t soundproofed at all, heard every person coming and going in the hallway and heard the people next door. Barely any tables to sit at in the restaurant, and most of the food facilities were broken. Food was dry and overcooked, could be due to it being a buffet. No food for the children. No milk either so had to go to the shops to get some. Shopping and petrol station 1 minute away which was ideal. Parking was ideal too as free. There was a young gentleman on who was absolutely lovely and helped us out with everything. Ideal checkout time as you can finish your breakfast and go to the room to finish packing. To summarise; great for couples, not for families. Cleanliness isn’t all that great and breakfast was not enjoyable.

The hotel was really nice. The room was clean. Staff were friendly and polite. Very helpful. Our only issue was the kids running up and down the hallway. Not great at 6.30 onwards. Just what was needed by other guests…

We did have a problem with the room (ants) but the room supervisor did everything possible but as it was a weekend the problem would be sorted out on Monday. We were offered a different room but as we leaving in the morning we did not bother, all in all the staff were excellent.
