We’ve stayed here a few times. It’s good value and conveniently located for visiting family (unless you’ve got business/family around it’s probably not an area worth visiting as there’s not much to do other than taking the train to London and the hotel isn’t that close to the station).
This time we stayed between Christmas and New Year’s and there were a few issues during our stay, the kids beds weren’t ready when we checked in at 9pm and the breakfast had a range of things missing, e.g. porridge, pastries and clearly multiple staff members absent.
However, the staff members who did show up did a great job covering all areas.
The manager made our beds and most notably Jason in the breakfast room did an impression job doing 4 jobs at once, clearing tables, taking orders, taking complaints and demands from guests with a smile and ensuring the available breakfast was replenished. Well done & hopefully we’ll have some croissants next time we come.
