They wanted £20 to extend my checkout for 30 minutes it was a bloke on phone he was curt probably a bad day I've stayed many times before never had any issues previously

One night stay. Hotel lacked a bit of atmosphere… seemed a bit tired. Good location with parking.

The place is lovely staff very friendly and helpful. Very clean, but tired looking in some places especially in the room, but will still stay there again .

This was the second time we have stayed at this hotel and we weren't disappointed as everything was as we remembered it. We had a better room this time which was bigger and with a better outlook. The only downside was that it was Christmas party time with two groups in celebrating. The Hotel did apologise in advance and it was only for one night. We eat in the hotel and the food was excellent and keenly priced. The staff were always helpful and happy to serve us.

The 'Budget' room was rather tired and in need of refurbishment, but otherwise adequate for a one night stay

Ok, noise from neighbouring room, uncomfortable bed which needs replacing, overall a tired hotel

Lovely place to stay staff very helpful.room spacious, telly small. Pourtsmouth is very nice place to visit.

Immaculately clean, very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable beds and good showers. Breakfast was delicious and very quick to be served. Bar is pleasant with good beer. The atmosphere is very relaxing. Nice Christmas display in the atrium.

a noisy neighbour woke me at 4am with singing. Walls are paper thin. The Hotel part is far at the back and is run down with threadbare carpets, big gaps between the door and outside hallway and no sound proofing between rooms means you can hear everything. Radiator made loud clanking noises or dripping noises because its all old. Curtains didnt close properly. television in room was so small as to be unusable. I paid £1 for the drying machine to dry my clothes, only it didn’t work and nothing got dried. For functions like weddings etc this venue is probably ok, but if you need a place just to sleep i would advise going further out of town. Decor is like they did it once in 1970 and then never changed anything.

Bed was comfy, but quite a trek to get there. Breakfast was excellent.

Great old club hotel near Dockyards - great location and old school charm in the public areas and the rooms have a nice interior update to modern look. Breakfast & dinner at hotel restaurant very good. Only problem was the glass barrier on shower leaked by and left a large puddle on bathroom floor.

Being ex RN im used to the area, and used to frequent the establishment when it was the sailors home club. Pure nostalgia. Lovely, polite staff especially in the restaurant. Will certainly visit again next year.
