Have stayed many times at Sprowston Manor over last 5yrs due to location, close to our family, it is dated-particularly in the bedrooms. You no longer have your bedroom serviced or bed made unless you specifically ask for it, then it a “quick flick”! Spa facilities average but functional. Breakfast average and all self service.

Nice tucked out-of-the-way location with pool and dining facilities for Business.

Booked a standard double room and it was a sizeable room, which had a 2 seater sofa, armchair and coffee table. The bed was a super king size and very comfortable. Large TV and the bathroom was a good size and more importantly- mold free! Not so good, the furniture appeared aged and some of the decor showed a bit of age. The restaurant didn’t offer a great deal of choice. Overall, a comfortable stay and would book again.

The room was very basic for the price. Very, very hot room with frosted windows. Couldnt open the window any more as there was a lock. There was 2 fans in the room and we needed to use both.

Not really a hotel (& certainly not a "Spa Hotel"). There is no room make up service (ie. you make your own bed!), no mini bar in room, no water in room, the furniture is all rather dated & knackered. When we were there, the bar was closed & the restaurant was all fully booked (with events?). It's a nice building & location, but it's defo a 2 star experience. It's not 5 star prices to be fair, but it's not that cheap either.

Hotel was a little dated but I loved my stay! Pool was fab, bed was huge and comfortable, lovely area, fab breakfast (book when you arrive as much cheaper than on here). Looking forward to my next stay.

We came here as a couple for a short break in September. The reception area very attractive and staff were lovely. Other areas a mixture of modern and oldy worldy but I love that and adds to the charm of the place. We absolutely loved our room. We had a superior double which was actually more like a suite. We were delighted. Very clean apart from some dust around the lamps. Bathroom lovely and furnishings, older but nice and added to the character of the room. For us the room was perfect and bed comfy. Downsides were the ladies changing rooms in the spa area. Bit dingy and most of the lockers seemed unusable and not in good repair, they really need replacing to match the quality of the rest of the hotel. Pool area and steam and sauna were nice though. The carpet in a lot of the common areas of the hotel really need cleaning or replacing as it looks grubby which is a shame because overall the hotel is lovely. Although the food was ok it would have been better to have a couple of different choices on different days. We only stayed 2 nights so it was ok but if we had stayed a week we wouldnt have chosen to eat at the hotel each night because of the lack of choice. On the whole we really enjoyed our stay, would recommend to others and would return. Patricia

Check in was quick and easy and the receptionist answered all of our questions. We discovered that we had been upgraded to a suite which was lovely. It was very well appointed although there were some areas that needed attention (dirty curtains and black mold on the bathroom ceiling). However the towels and bed linen were all clean and we appreciated the sitting area and coffee machine. Dinner was a little disappointing as there were only 4 choices on the menu and one wasn’t available. There were also some burgers that could be ordered from the lounge menu but that isn’t really what you expect for dinner in a hotel of this calibre. However we did enjoy the food we ordered and prices were reasonable. Breakfast was very nice but more fresh fruit and some ‘proper’ bread would have been nice. I also prefer a cooked breakfast made to order with a variety of eggs available (and maybe some smoked salmon too!). The leisure club was small but nice enough for a short stay. We definitely left feeling more relaxed than when we arrived so our stay certainly fulfilled its purpose!

Friendly staff. Good location

The hotel is amazing to look at. Beautiful grounds and the hotel itself is like you’ve set foot onto a little piece of Hogwarts with large oil paintings on the wall and the Man sized armour was really special. I booked a room and economy seemed to have all I needed. The first room I was given was a very small room, overlooking a dirty mental roof, a wall and a gas ventilation pipe… it was also so hot and airless I just wanted to leave immediately. The receptionist was very helpful and changed my room immediately and offered to carry my suitcase. Note to anyone with disabilities, there are quite a few flights of stairs and winding staircases to the upper floors . My new room was a huge improvement on the sad room I had previously seen. It overlooked the car park but also the grounds and some large trees. However same problem. The room was so, so hot and airless.Window was on a safety latch which allowed minimal fresh air through and by this time I was too tired to move rooms again. It was so hot and stifling that I had to keep putting my face to the gap in window. I asked the receptionist to turn thermostat down and he said the heating wasn't on and promptly brought a fan up. Fan was loud and dried my nose up and couldn’t sleep. Also, big hole in wall, large crack down wall, dust hanging from fire alarm and pillows that were rock solid. Cheap mismatched Argos Lamps.. Woke up even more exhausted, puffy eyes, dehydrated and couldn’t wait to leave. Such a shame.

We have stayed here many times before but was very disappointed with our stay. We had a very long journey to get here and the receptionist was very direct and dismissive. Seemed to be in a hurry even though we were the only ones there. There was a sign saying no room in the restaurant and I said how much we had been looking forward to eating there. I had to ask her for recommendations of where to go and she handed me a list. There was no offer of I would recommend this place or offer of booking us a table/taxi to help us. The bedroom was spacious and clean as always. However the temperature was so hot we had to sleep with the windows open. We were positioned next to the gravel car park so were then kept awake by the cars driving. Went to breakfast. Was quite intimidating by the number of male golfers. No one had said they were running a golf break. I was the only female for quite a while. The food was not the normal standard that we have come to expect from Sprowston. Not much left and what was there had been there a while. Definitely not the normal visit that we normally have. This hotel is normally relaxing and friendly so very disappointed with this visit.

The accommodation was amazing the breakfast was superb but the evening meal was awful. Service was awful too. Would stay here again but go back into Norwich city for dinner.

We were there for only one night, however our stay was fantastic. We will recommend this hotel to everyone.

Property was always very busy but there was plenty of room. Food good but choice limited. Our suite was spacious. Bed and bathroom good but see below. Carpets needed cleaning. Windows needed cleaning. Our toilet would not flush properly. In spite of promises this was never corrected.

Hotel is so run down, had to change rooms due to broken mattress and sparsity of a room advertised at £120 a night. Pool and hot tub run down / broken. Reception staff helpful but run off their feet due to people complaining and lack of staff. Breakfast was cold and unwelcoming. Really disappointing.

Justo be very nice hotel. Now - unacceptable dirty. Bathrooms really bad. First night even my bed sheets and cover didn’t been changed. Just after I completed- they fixed bed but bathroom was still left Next day was different room. Bathroom the same and my last day - different room - the same issues. Shocking. Manager didn’t care too, room didn’t swap on first night and second evening when I seen manager - I told when would like to talk- answe was “I’m busy, see you later” after about 2,5 h waiting no one come to see me. I was in hotel with my colleague and it’s was embarrassing stay! Never again
