I recently stayed at The Manor Elstree in Borehamwood, and it was such a lovely experience! The hotel is set in a stunning Edwardian country house with beautiful views of the Hertfordshire countryside. The whole place has a charming, peaceful vibe, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The staff were really friendly and helpful throughout my stay, which made it even more enjoyable. My room was comfortable and clean, though I did feel it could use a little updating in places. The restaurant was great—delicious food, though the portions were on the smaller side. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous, and I can see why it's such a popular wedding venue. It’s such a picturesque spot, and I’d definitely recommend it for a romantic escape or a special occasion.

Very friendly and accommodating reception staff. Hotel itself not disabled friendly, lots of stairs but no lifts. Room a bit tired, tiny telly and overly soft bed, WiFi all but non existent. However, shower hot and powerful, lovely bar so overall will return in the future.

Hotel is ok even though it’s a little tired It needs a more comfortable and larger lounge area Newer wing is ok but needs maintenance But I stay there regularly

The staff were wonderful, kind, and aprochable, the hotel itself is wonderful, though showing a few signs of age and a little wear and tear, but everything in our room worked, the bed was comfortable the food was out of this world! Overall our stay was a wonderful experience and we hope to return there again for our wedding anniversery.

Very discreet property, lovely receptionist. Amazing parking availability. Huge room. Very comfortable bed. Bed so comfortable, great size. Small fridge in room which is great added touch. Great size bathroom and facilities for bath and shower. Would absolutely recommend. Didn’t choose breakfast so cannot comment on that, however will DEFINITELY rebook. Genuinely the best time.

Lovely place to stay felt rested after visit

Nice room, bed was too soft for us. convenient for north London. Close to M1 and M25. plenty of parking. good staff particularly in bar/dining room. Need a car as away from local shops. Great breakfast and good for events in beautiful grounds.

The Manor is a beautiful old building in lovely grounds. All the staff we met were friendly & helpful. The cooked breakfast was delicious, served very hot & to order. Great selection of cold food served as a buffet. Very clean bedding & towels, the room was large but tired. Take note, this is an old building with no lift & lots of stairs to every bedroom which is not a problem to the able bodied!

Room was very cold. 8C outside and the hotel heating was not on. View from the window was bins, downstairs room and one of the windows could not be locked. The Manor House is lovely but the rooms are a 1960/70 block and quite dated with old furniture, veneer peeling off, varnish on desk peeling off. Needs some renovation.

Really enjoyed our stay at The Manor. It was a lovely place, easy parking, great room but it was all of the friendly staff that really made it special. They were so helpful and welcoming.

Close to an onward appointment

It was a grand manor. Yes it does need some repairs but nothing that spoiled our stay or would prevent me recommending it. I would stay there again.

Staff were excellent. Delicious afternoon tea. Tudor building was lovely but some of the site could do with a little tlc in places. Great location with views over London. Excellent value for money

The outside of the hotel and grounds are lovely. The staff are top notch, very friendly and professional. Desperately in need of a lick of paint and a new carpet here and there. Room was clean and comfy, few stains on the floor though. Bit annoying, as with not very much money spent, this could be a 5 star place. Would stay again to enjoy the lovely Tudor mansion and grounds.

We only had one overnight stay but i probably wouldnt look to go back. Due to the age of the property, there is no air con installed which meant our room was incredibly hot. The facilities could be much improved if someone put a bit of thought into it. The outside seating area could be really pretty if there was more lighting but instead its quite dark snd nearly every chair we tried to sit on was broken - wooden furniture needs some tlc. Reception staff are not very chatty. On checking out the next morning, I knew I would be receiving a £30 refund but was informed the system wasnt working so i would have to wait for this to go through when it was up and running. Overall, i'd give this property 3/5, which is a shame as if the people running it put in a bit of thought and effort, it could be beautiful.

Dirty & not very well maintained. Mold on the walls, leaking ceilings...wallpaper peeling off the walls. I would never stay here again.

Convenient location and charismatic hotel but with modern wing.
