The service was superb! We were hiking nearby and had some special needs regarding our equipment. The staff made sure all our needs were met, and beyond.
The hotel had saunas that we could use free of charge which was a pleasant surprise to us. Also the breakfast was amazing, including a large selection of gluten free options.

It was the best location you can have it in Ruka. Super comfortable rooms. Very clean bathroom. The breakfast had a lot of options and it was fresh.

Good location in the heart of Ruka. I had a renovated room which added an extra level of comfort even though it wasn’t the most spacious room I’ve been in. The service at the reception was very polite and customer orientated.

Great location next to the slopes and lifts - ski in, ski out. The room was tiny. The floor of the bathroom got totally wet after having a shower. The bed and the pillow were comfortable. Nice breakfast.

Hotel has an old side and a new side. New side is decent. Old side is a bit shabby, floors creak and there was no AC in my room. Minibar was empty. Soundproof was so-so. Still doable.
Very limited vegan breakfast options if you wish to have something else than lettuce and fruits for breakfast.

Stayed for one night after a long hike in the region.
Hotel was clean and comfortable, and staff friendly.
Would be nice to have some selection in pillows. I found the one provided a bit hard and high.

We have booked the apartments and it’s located in a location away from the main building. It’s a short distance to be fair but with the heavy snow and slippery slopes, it is almost impossible to bring our heavy luggages there on our own. There is no luggages delivery services but after much pleading, the hotel finally agreed to help. I hope the hotel can be mindful that foreign tourists don’t drive and we usually arrive with big luggages for a long journey to Finland. It would be better to offer services when needed. The apartment is authentic Finnish style and we love the loft. Beautiful scenery to the pines and slopes. Overall a pleasant and great stay. The location is near to good restaurants such as the Pizzaria Ruka.

Swiss chalet-style hotel with attractive decor in reception/restaurant area and lively atmosphere. Gift shop, sauna and second restaurant also within building. Supermarket, tourist info, sports and gift shops, restaurants and pizza takeaway in ski village complex adjacent to hotel. Bus stop for Kuusamo/airport/Juuma/Oulanka less than 100m from hotel entrance. Start of Karhunkierros trekking route immediately outside hotel - reindeer can be seen grazing on hillside, and in nearby forest on Valtavaara hill birds such as Siberian Jay, hawk owl, hazelhen, three-toed woodpecker etc. Hotel room very spacious, comfortable and warm. Shower/WC room also spacious. Excellent breakfast with good variety of hot and cold food served in main restaurant. Room price very reasonable and good value (visited outside ski season).
