Very clean rooms. Personal very friendly and helpful, just like family. Very quiet location, just 50 m from mainstreet. Restaurants, Cafés grocery store, Hair styler, eiscream Café etc all in walking distance. Best views from all rooms to Zugspitze. 15 mi utes to Eibsee and Garmisch Partenkirchen, German and Austrian Zugspitzbahn nearby. If one is closed for maintenance, the other one is working.

Great stay for Snowboarding and Skiing! The location is very central from the train and the Zugspitze rail. Five to seven minute walk to both. Ample parking space too; we have a large car and worry about parking often. Above all, this was some of the best service we've ever experienced at a hotel. It had more of a bed and breakfast cozy and accommodating atmosphere. The owners and staff are some of the nicest people we've met in Bavaria. Breakfast was delicious and the Hostess would make each of us eggs as we wanted them in the mornings. Beers, soft drinks, and coffee were available throughout the day and night. There was also a wellness center that we didn't have time to use but it looked beautiful and equipped with three saunas! We'll definitly be coming back for our next snowboarding trip.

Yes the hotel is old but I've stayed here 4 times in past few years and my rooms have always been super clean and comfortable. The owners are friendly and professional. I'm not German speaking but do not have communication problems. I think it is super value for money.

Calm and beautiful village out of the way and quaint Connected by bus and train to Garmisch BUT they are every hour and bus takes nearly 35 min to reach. Expect 5-10 min delays so don't book transfers with less than half hour gaps We got a Travel card on arrival which covered use of cog wheel train and bus between eibsee, grainau and garmisch. Doesn't include DB trains Service is great and everyone was very polite and helpful Comfortable and clean rooms Host leaves cakes and breads for guests every evening Also note Having a car while staying here gives more mobility Small village so everything closed early and not much to do past 6pm. They have a lot of restaurants in Grainau but limited options for vegetarians. Probably more options in Garmisch. Without a car it costs nearly 20 euros from garmisch to grainau and there is no local taxi in grainau, so calling a cab to go back to garmisch can cost 35-40 euros DB station is 1.5 km away, but the bus stop and cog wheel station are just a 5-6 min walk away Wifi was inconsistent and one night there was none at all Breakfast is average
