This is a more traditional hotel in Friedrichshafen which has a great location by the train station and lakefront.
It's very old school which I personally like- traditional dark wood pub style for the bar area but the rooms are more modern. The breakfast room is just off the bar area and seemed to have plenty of tables. Selection was good with some hot food, cold cuts and cheeses, and yogurt and cereal.
We had a twin and the room was big, lots of space and a good-sized wardrobe. The bathroom had a bath with shower head attachment. I struggled with the bath controls (absolutely could be me!) to get hot water with good pressure. The mugs in the room are really quite small but they don't offer larger ones. The room did get quite hot we found, there was AC but it could be a bit noisy for those who are sensitive.
Prior to my stay, I did email with a question and they responded really quickly and sorted it for me. All the staff were professional and friendly.

Excellent friendly staff that are polite and very helpful. Any questions I had were answered quickly and comprehensively.
The self-service breakfast gives you a good selection to start your day. There is a restaurant also on site, but I didn't use it. The bar was good with the barman able to knock up a multitude of cocktails, from what I witnessed.
My room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and perfect for me. There was a small fridge also where you could store some food and drink.
There is car parking available for a fee, I'd advise informing them when you book, but it is a reasonable charge, in my opinion. There are also garages that can be booked, I only became aware of this on arrival and seeing cycle tourists storing their bicycles in there. Right by the promenade for pleasant walks and easy access to numerous restaurants, it is an ideal choice in my book. Would I stay again? Without a doubt.
For your information, for the local tourist hotel tax, you are
required to pay, you are entitled to a BODO card, which gives you free travel on most buses and trains over a huge area. These are picked up from the hotel reception. The public transport system is excellent and the hotel is just a short walk from the main bus and train station. I definitely recommend this whilst here.

The hotel is from 15th century so it has it's own style, it's up to you if you like it that way. With that said rooms are honestly all that you'd need if you're looking for a place to sleep.
The location can't really be better, you're right next to the lake.
The best think about this place is service, staff was very welcoming since we arrived at 3AM, they were very helpful and patient.

This "Hotel" deserves gold Medal for the most awful service I ever seen worldwide!
At the desk italien guy that would better fit to prisoner control than for an hotel, room with temperature more than 32, climatisation was not working, no solution proposed, no fridge, vue on trash cans, oblige to try sleeping with window AND door open, (as a result sick during the night) no internet.. room too far, bar closed , no ice available, seen manager, no excuse, no sorry no smile.. "I will do refund".. weeks later nothing if not being hang up when calling for news!?*!@*!!?!

This place is one of the best that I have stayed in for a very long time. The hotel is located in a great place to access the whole town and for the lake.
The room that we were allocated was very big and luxurious, much better than expected. It had everything that was needed including a fridge and USB charging points.
Breakfast was the best so far on this trip around southern Europe for a few weeks.
The hotel also has lockable individual garages for guest use.
I have kept the best till last, the staff are wonderful. They are a young team and seem to speak all languages. They all seem to have happy outgoing personality's and make the guests feel at home.
I wanted to stay for longer but they were fully booked.
I will return.
