No air conditioning in the room was a major problem with 36C outside the chance for a good sleep was limited. The restaurant was traditional but no veggie food would have been a problem if there were no options locally.

It is a great location, with easy access to the city center. The hotel is very clean and comfortable, with an excellent breakfast, and good bar.
The only problem was that it was very hot, and there was no air conditioning in the rooms.

The gentleman on reception was fantastic!
The restaurant was not so fantastic. The choice for gluten free was no choice at all. The waitress tried though. The place is rather old fashioned and I am puzzled as to how it received an 'excellent' rating o Hotels.com

Really great stay at Hotel Rio. I was really impressed by the staff, rooms and amenities. Having stayed at other nice hotels in Karlsruhe, I found this to be a tiny step above.
