The hotel location is super strategic near the mtr station, the hotel room is spacious and of course the hotel staff is very friendly and helpful (Mr. Shahil). Hopefully I can return to Hong Kong soon and stay at this hotel again

Located at 3rd floor. Easy to get there by stairs instead take an elevator which is always crowded. Location is very strategic near to MTR station and Avenue of the stars.

If there are 0 stars, I will give 0 stars. Dirty, dusty and smelly. Messy bathroom not cleaned. There are people's eek. The room was not cleaned from the previous guest. Creepy and dark place. No one is on standby and all are confused. This is so unworthy.

I had a miss conversation with staff because of they couldn't find my booking. After I got a room. I don't have space to lay my suitcase and also can't use a hot water in spite of I took a shower with a horrible cold. I felt insecure. Hence I have changed a hotel and paid too expensive near by. I shouldn't select a hostel on the long weekend period.

It is not unsatisfying at all. Just expecting we are having a 3 beds (based on my booking) but gave us only 2 double beds. Linens was not changed. Nevertheless, we had fun.

I booked one room for 5pax. but when we arrive the room is not available so we were given 3rooms instead. it was somehow hard for us because we need to go out and get out things but then we were able to manage it. the owner is very nice. they assisted us when we checked out. the room is nice since all you need to do is sleep and rest because you'll go out during day time. we'll surely comeback and book on this accom. thank you so much!

At first we booked here and ran out of rooms but from the staff didn't stay quiet, we were given a new apartment room. Perhaps the form of responsibility from management, service is very good.

We were shocked with where the hostel was located. We were unaware that this was in one building where in each floor there are many other hostels which is the Chungking Mansion. The mansion is well known for its bad reputation in early 1990s. However, to date we are not sure with its current social status. At first we felt wary and uneasy every time we go out of the mansion. We just later on got used to it. Guests just have to be very vigilant and they must not look naive about the place. I guess, for cheap bookings in hotel this is highly recommended. But for some guests who are meticulous and can afford higher rates, this is not for them. Also, solo female travelers are not suggested to stay in one of this hostels. I guess, guests should also be informed about the mansions where hostels are located. As for what happened to us, we didn't bother to research about the location of the hostel. We just looked into its price and convenience to MTR Stations. Nonetheless, the operators of the hostel were very kind. We did not encounter anything bad with them. They even lent us their umbrellas and rented a private car for our transportation in the airport on the last day.

for backpacking, it is good, but for family, no. Pros: - when we arrived, elevator is not working, so we used the fire exit a lot of times - CR is not clean (it's clean but it's just something in the corner corner) - room is small (enough lang talaga tulugan) - tv is not working (we just can not open because the demo is not demo for use) - towel must be requested and you need to pick up "new and clean towels" at the 3rd floor. (We are from 13th). Because we just got to the side of our room, it's all wet hahaha - no toothbrush, only soap and shampoo (as though empty) were provided. Goodness brought me a conditioner. - The maindoor. Punch open. Cons: - cheapest payment - aircon is okay - 1 galon of water is provided per day - free cup noodles (once only) - with water heater and ref - they have extension which is converted to PH electric plug, di mo na need bumili universal adaptor) - location is very near MTR and avenue of stars is walking distance - Ariyen the receptionist is all around, hindi sya hospitable but he is accomodating. I was able to borrow his phone when I need to make a local call. He even gave us his fb account so we can inquire him anytime we need him. - I've booked for 4 persons only but we are 5. We did not add a fee because upon booking I said that it might be impossible to add. The three beds in a double bed. Okay, we're just saving you. I really do not expect a good hotel based review, but I'm just nashock because it's worse than I expected. There might be only small rooms in HK compared satin. But if you do not have to worry about it, you just need to get out of the room, you can not do it anymore. This is the cheapest. And I sleep well for 4 nights :) Also tell your friends that they are not expecting a good one. But if you have extra money and you want to work well, you're really spending a lot more.

The room is ok. You get what you paid for. But the service is not good. The guy at the reception is unprofessional. Fought with him. He was not able to manage bookings well. He touched our things without our permission while we are outside for our day trip. He was pointing the fingers to us that we did not arrive on time to change our rooms that's why he open our room. So he intrude our room and pack our personal belongings himself and bring it to new room. Yes, all by himself without our permission. As we wenr back, we saw him packing our things from our room. Very unethical! I won't recommend this hostel. Very disappointing experience. I won't recommend Chungking mansion as a place to stay as well. Wont come back there if I go back to HK. However, the manager and the owners are good persons. They are able to speak well with their guests. But the receptionists arent welcoming and hospitable. They want us to stay outside while waiting to be checked in. No waiting place for those who wants to check early.
