because it's my first time, is it true that check in is at 3 pm?? I think all hotels are at 2 pm. parking is difficult, maybe there is a special security guard who holds the key for parking in the stack.

The distance to the city center is close, the rooms are spacious, recommended for staycations with family, or other activities.

We stayed at Novotel Balikpapan for four nights. The location of the hotel is perfect, situated right in the middle of town and very easy to access, making it convenient for exploring the area. The lobby and restaurant area are elegant and clean, giving a good first impression. However, the furniture in the bedrooms, including the bathroom and TV, is noticeably outdated. There are visible scratches on the furniture, and the TV is not a smart TV. Updating the furnishings would significantly enhance the guest experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, with one standout moment involving a polite staff member in the car park who assisted my disabled mum in getting into a vehicle. However, there seemed to be a lack of staff presence throughout the hotel. For instance, a dining tray left outside a neighbour's room remained there for an entire day before being picked up. Similarly, gravels scattered around the bin outside the elevators on our floor were not cleaned up for a full day and night. While I understand that some guests may not show consideration, it would be much better if the hallways were consistently maintained to look clean and tidy. The pool area was another concern. The floor leading from the pool to the shower room and elevator areas was always wet, creating a slippery and unsafe environment. Anti-slip carpets should be installed in these areas to prevent accidents. I also witnessed some visitors nearly slipping, which was alarming. Additionally, the shower room near the pool needed more frequent cleaning, especially during weekends or peak seasons. There also appeared to be fewer staff on hand to assist with towels or other needs. On a positive note, the food at the restaurant was enjoyable, with the mantau and beef in black pepper sauce being particularly delicious. The room is standard, but the breakfast is the best. The food is very varied, and the taste is also okay. If you are really after the food, this hotel can be your destination.

There is no office roomboy, there is a customer next door who is a double check in case, the TV is old-fashioned, there is no shampoo, in the morning there is only CS, no security guard and no roomboy
