Great holiday apartment to enjoy a weekend of weeks holiday at the seaside. The location is also great, because restaurants, stores and the beach are within 5 to 15 minutes walk.

We cannot rate the apartment itself as we were unable to stay there. The owner canceled the reservation the same day the stay began, we read his cancellation email sent the same morning, an hour before arriving at our destination (we were driving halfway). We booked this stay with my Booking account. It's an account that I've had for around ten years and which has French personal details registered. I never modified them because I didn't see the point... Big mistake on my part!!! Let me explain... I have lived in Belgium for several years (my wife is Belgian and my 18 month old son is also Belgian). The owner played on the fact that the reservation had been made with a French account to simply cancel it and highlight the restrictions on tourist travel between countries due to covid. He took advantage of the health situation to collect the money while being in his so-called “good rights”. It's deplorable to have such a lack of ethics. We called him to explain the situation but he didn't want to hear anything. He would neither accept us, nor agree to postpone the date (so as not to lose our money), nor accept that we arrange with a Belgian Booking account, nor accept the duplicate of our reservation cards. Belgian identities and of course, nor agree to reimburse us (even partially). Also knowing that we had paid him 150 euros as a deposit from a Belgian account.. We tried over the phone to bring out a human side to this situation, but apparently he didn't feel concerned. "As a bonus", the day before departure, I told him by email that we wanted to take advantage of the paid bed linen service. He told us it was ok knowing full well that he was going to cancel the reservation the following morning. 2nd bonus, Mr. told booking that we kept insisting by calling him, like we were harassing him... This poor man... But what a joke!!! We are aware of this because we had a Booking employee on the phone, just after having spoken to him, shortly after reading the cancellation email on the way. The latter received messages from him at the same time as we had him on the phone... Bad faith here I am!!! 3rd bonus, he told us that thanks to my MasterCard, I could be reimbursed... Impossible if it is not the customer who cancels on his own and, moreover, subject to specific cases.. And that, I I'm convinced he already knew that! He just wanted to cut our conversation short. With a bit of luck for him, the apartment might have been rented again... Cool! Twice more profitable for Picsou! When money comes before ethics, it is not something to be condoned... We lost more than 150 euros in this story. Perhaps trifles for this gentleman, but not as far as we are concerned. And I am sure that this dear gentleman has no remorse... Naturally, he is in this famous “good law”. After verification, the apartment is no longer available until March 17. Please note that we rented it from March 8 to 10. I imagine our dates were confused with the dates of another landlord who had booked for more time.. It's shameful, knowing that what's more, he told us on the phone that he wasn't that type of person. What a liar!!!
