Great place to get away from it all. People were very friendly.
The rooms were spacious and spotless, with great décor and crisp bed sheets. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with a huge variety of options! The staff were attentive and went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble.

Our stay at the hotel was wonderful. All the staff were welcoming and very friendly and went out of their way to help us and make our stay enjoyable. Alessandra in Reception was especially helpful and the other receptionist stayed much later than usual, as we were very late arriving. The hotel arranged trips by water taxi and transfers to and from the ferry, making for stress free travel. Food and service in the Ristorante Da Maria was very good, we loved the beach, breakfast on the terrace and wonderful views. Our room was spotless and we were offered use of hotel facilities the day we checked out, which allowed us more time in the pool and on the beach, before we checked out. A perfect break - just wish we could have stayed longer!

Our stay was absolutely incredible. We felt so at home throughout the entire stay. Gianni and Alessandra were so accommodating and couldn’t do enough for us during our time!! Would highly recommend staying here any time I’d come to ischia. I would also now choose to stay in ischia because of this hotel over any of the other islands in amalfi coast!

Stayed here for a spell of hot weather this past summer, and liked it enough that I'm planning to go back next summer. Room was very clean and comfortable, staff were helpful and courteous, and the beach was lovely. Regarding the beach, in particular I was happy with how relatively private it was, as well as how well marked off the boat lane was. I've stayed in other places where the swimming area's cheek by jowl with the boat area but the separation wasn't well-marked, so I am glad it was so well-marked here.
The only downsides were that the bathroom, curiously, wasn't air conditioned, and the breakfast, which was fairly scant. In fact, everything else was so good I felt let-down by the breakfast; ended up eating a lot of toast in order to fill myself up, and on the third day I just flat-out bought bread in the nearby town so I'd have something more filling to eat in the morning. Otherwise, I was entirely happy with my stay.

Hotel Da Maria is beautifully located with its own private beach and restaurant. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are well specified with an excellent shower and air con. Cleaning staff do a great job maintaining the rooms and hotel. Clean towels are provided everyday.
Their is a small swimming pool with loungers, a large patio area with tables,chairs and sun loungers or residents can walk down a flight of steps to the beach. For some the steps may be the deal breaker.
For anyone with difficulty walking or climbing they might be a challenge as the property is a tiered structure built on the hillside. Also travel to and from the local town of Ischia Ponte is by small boat or water taxi as it is referred to. It is a well organised and efficient service and i found it a charming and enjoyable experience but again those afraid of water or unsteady on their feet it may prove another deal breaker

Da Maria is a lovely hotel, set right on the sea. Accessible by water taxi (or a slog over the hill) and with lovely views over the bay and the Aragona Castle. Room was a sea-view double aspect, with a balcony; shutters and insect screen on the french doors. Breakfast was usual - bread, jams, cereals, yoghurts, cheese/hams, juices and coffee.
Restaurant was ok, food generic Italian, wine cheap but local and good. Prices seem to alter according to who served you!

We attended for a week and had an amazing time. The hotel was spotlessly clean, staff were very attentive and friendly.. even though not everyone spoke English and we did not speak much Italian, it was not an issue, we got by and it worked well.
Food in the restaurant was delicious and would recommend.
The beach was busy but that was only to be expected for the location.
Yes there are stairs but that adds to the charm of the location. Loved this place

We had a very enjoyable stay in Albergo da Maria. Loved the location on the beach and hearing the waves lapping at night. The hotel restaurant served delicious home cooked meals and it was easy to take the water taxi to Ischia Ponte for a good variety of cafes and restaurants. Service at the hotel was excellent. The only drawbacks to a comfortable stay were the lack of air-conditioning and the toilet being in the shower enclosure. Regardless of this we would love to return.

We spent two weeks here and have no complaints at all. The staff were lovely, especially Dorata at breakfast who catered for my need for high fibre food, and Onofrio on reception. The room was lovely and clean with air conditioning and we had a large private courtyard with views of Vesuvius. However, be warned if you are not good with lots of steps this is not the place for you. We actually saw this as a good way to keep up our fitness levels and an excuse to treat ourselves to lots of the lovely gelato available everywhere on the island!

Arrived by Boat Taxi to Da Maria to find every single member of staff friendly and accommodating. The Italian passion for life shone through, even if it was a bit animated at times. Recommend to anyone looking for a chillout break.

Our motivation for this trip was to get away from city life, switch off and relax. I choose this hotel due to picturesque location, remote but yet accessible. 1 hour from Naples on ferry for approx £10 each, a bus for 10 mins at €2 and then water taxi (motorised boat) for €5 gets you here. Its absolutely beautiful. Apart from crashing waves below ( which I find therapeutic) at the top of the hotel you literaly can't hear a sound. Food was good- we ate an evening meal here and breakfast was included. Staff could not have been friendlier and pool, surrounding gardens are immaculate. If you want a party, go elsewhere. If you want sheer relaxation and to find yourself....come here. You can get taxi boat over and back daily for €4 per person to main port.
Tip- Buy some beers when you arrive in port from supermarket for your fridge so you can sit on terrace and sip without facing 100 steep steps down to beach bar everytime you want a drink !
