Terrible hotel, lying and unprofessional staff
We booked a room for the day of the Bruce Springsteen concert, which ended up being postponed. When we found out that the concert was postponed, we sent them an e-mail asking if it was possible to cancel the room with a refund, and their first answer was that their hotel policy is cancellation without refund, and that we made the reservation through Booking. com and not directly with them.
After that, we called Booking.com and were told that cancellation with a refund is possible if we make a request for cancellation through Booking.com, and that in that case it is only necessary for the hotel to accept that request. We sent an e-mail to the hotel again and wrote to them what the Booking.com agent told us. In the next reply from the hotel, they confirmed that they would accept our cancellation request when we sent it, which would mean that we would get a refund.
Although we were ready to come to Milan and see the city instead of the concert, due to their answer we decided to give up and send a cancellation request. We called Booking.com again to see if everything was okay and they confirmed that the cancellation request was sent to the hotel and now we are waiting for the hotel to accept it as promised. In the next two days there is no response from the hotel.
Then we called the hotel and they confirmed that our reservation was canceled but that we cannot get a refund and that we should contact them via email if we have any complaints because they don't speak English very well and don't have time to talk on the phone.
We email them again, explain what they told us from Booking.com and remind them that they told us that they will accept our cancellation request and we will get our money back, but they continue the story about the hotel's policy.
So to sum it up, if they kept saying they wouldn't refund our money, we would have gone to Milan and used the room we paid for, but they lied that they would accept our cancellation request, and after we sent that request, they decided are cancel our reservation without any notice and refuse the cancellation request so that they end up with an empty room that they can rent to someone else while taking money from us for that room.
They are also hypocrites who double the price of the room when there is a concert in the nearby stadium, but if it happens that the concert is canceled they tell you that it is not their problem.
My advice to anyone going to Milan is to avoid this hotel at all costs.
