Has potential, nice and big common area, staff is also nice, but: everything is pretty run down. Biggest problem is that there is no ventilation nor window in the bathroom which is why it was wet and moldy. The window in the room could also not be opened. Not a terrible but also not a pleasant experience, I wouldn’t go there again.

Friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean. Located five minutes from the bus stop, 15 min from Ortigia, and 20 min from the archeological park.

I feel sorry for posting this review because I loooooove the staff. The staff is amazing and they are lovely people. But this hostel got a lot to improve. AC doesn’t work in the middle of summer and heatwave. The bathrooms get pools and they don’t properly close. The rooms are way too small for the amount of people it can hold. I would suggest: - Reduce the amount of bunk beds per room. Seriously, too much people in such small space is not doable, hygienic or good. - Change some showers. The shower in the upper loft have a little curtain, and it straight points to the outside. Maybe a down shower would help. - Making the beds. It is the only hostel at Syracuse and there is no competition. But what if competition came? U gotta be prepared. To the staff, I love you all. Thank you for making this hostel great. EDIT in response to the owner: I tried using the controller. Didn’t worked, not on room with 4 people neither on room with 8 people. I know how a controller works. That is very small. And instead of responding defensive to every review you receive, you should internally read and take the feedback as an opportunity to make the hostel better. I am not the only one and people can read it. Stop responding as you were a teenager fighting people on the internet. You own a business, and people review what they paid for.

THE WORST PLACE TO STAY. The rooms are too small for the quantity of bunker beds; the bathroom doesn’t lock, doesn’t have door in the shawer, is full of mold, the sink of my room was clogged and smelling very bad. I stayed for 5 days and didn’t see any housekeeping cleaning the room. You need to make your own bed and at the nights (all nights) they open the bar and the party starts until 3, 4am. If your looking a decent place to sleep in your holidays DONT CHOOSE THIS ONE. Sleep will be the only thing you will not do in your trip, the staff start to clean and talk very load early morning 7am. Seriously is a hell on earth! I complained about the messy parties and they even answered me! I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Also is in a part of the city witch is not very secure.

Perfect location sandwiched between the train and bus stations and a 20 minute walk from Ortigia. However, this place is filthy. You can see the accumulation of grime on all the doors, remotes, and chairs. The bathroom smelled of urine despite the cleaning staff cleaning it every day. I personally witnessed the staff throw the uncovered pillow and duvet on the dirty floor while stripping the bed and place those same two items on the bed for the next person. They did this every changeover, I never saw the duvet be changed. The kitchen was disgusting. Dead bugs and rotten food in the fridge. The storage bins for utensils look like they’ve never been cleaned. Usually all kitchen items needed a cleaning before use. The beds were uncomfortable, you can feel the springs on your back. It’s a shame because the hostel is actually very nice and the staff are friendly but I can’t overlook how disgusting it was.
