Great stay! Hospitable and kind owners and a lovely swimming pool to cool off!

The main drawback of this property is the noise. Located on the main artery of the valley where the limit is 70km per hour, often exceeded, it experiences uninterrupted traffic day and night, cars, heavy vehicles, ambulances.... not to mention the motorbikes that exploit the straight road to increase speed. Where I was trying to sleep there was no air conditioning, so the windows were necessarily open, on the garden side the noise was slightly less, but still unbearable. At the edge of the garden of this structure passes... the train! A few hundred meters away as the crow flies there is a disco which happily entertained us until 4 in the morning on Saturday 27th July! Please don't talk about an oasis of peace. It is not possible to take 4 steps on foot outside the structure as as soon as we cross the threshold of the gate we find ourselves on the road risking being run over.....There is no pavement. I think that in the photos shown on the site it would be a good idea to show at least a piece of the road so that the future potential customer has at least an idea of ​​what awaits him. An enchanting place nestled in a small park/garden. The very spacious room furnished with care and simplicity. The meals were plentiful and delicious, the staff very kind and helpful.

This villa (it is not a palace) is immersed in a beautiful park, well maintained and equipped; the owner and staff are kind and friendly. The interior, furnished without great pretensions, seemed to me to be very neglected in terms of cleanliness and the room that was given to me, very spartan if not bare, left a lot to be desired in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. I strongly advise against this accommodation to those who do not have a car as there is no public transport and an adequate taxi service connecting the BB to Poppi and there is no pavement between the structure and the train station or the only two restaurants in the street (having to walk along the state road you risk being pulled over by cars, especially if it's dark) The breakfast is decent, the overall cost, also considering that there is no TV in the room and the many inconveniences, I find excessive.

Entering Palazzo Gatteschi is like being catapulted into a "small ancient world", the taste and the look take you back in time, to the homes of our grandparents... the owner and the ladies welcome you with kindness and smiling availability, ready to give advice , always discreet. A well-kept garden, a varied and abundant breakfast; the pleasantness of a stay that evokes memories and makes you appreciate the surrounding landscape even more! Strategic location...
