What a place and Francesca is the one of the kind … if You think to come… just come. Beautiful place with host like no one else. You can enjoy time in quiet area with great view. Same time it is really good place for a “base” to explore Umbria: Spoleto, Orvieto, Sacro Bosco, Narni, Amelia, Todi and all of those small cities on hill tops….

This year we revisited this place where we spent two great weeks a few years ago. Why did we go back? Even though we are a family with kids, we all like our peace, and we can find it here. The old farm building has a few spacious apartments, and a large area around it, where each apartment has its own seating. The living room is particularly big, although you will and should be spending your time outdoors. The pool is slightly away from the apartments, so that provides extra quiet. Another reason to return is that we have become very fond of the owner and her dogs. The kids wanted to see them again. Amelia, the nearest large town is where you do your groceries (there are two substantial supermarkets), and where you get gelato (there are at least two really good ones). The best place for pizza is Lugnano In Teverina which is just as far as Amelia, but in the other direction. The owner can tell you where to go. Around the place, there are various things you can do, but if you come from the Netherlands like us, where everything is close by, distances feel long. Orvieto has a fantastic cathedral, last time we did Rome by train from Orte, but you can also look up things like Cascate di Marmara, the amazing Civita Di Bagnoregio, or Viterbo if you are looking from something more city-like. The area to the north of Amelia has plenty of nature, in particular the area where the Tiber river flows.

A very nice stone house with 4 comfortable but not luxurious apartments. A very large apartment with two bedrooms and private bathrooms, a large kitchen and a dining room with a fireplace. Then three separate apartments at garden level with kitchen, living room and private bathrooms. Wide spaces. The gardens, grill area and pools are very beautiful. The location is good for exploring Umbria. The house is in the middle of the field, far from other properties.

The farm is very beautiful, well looked after and set in nature where you can only hear the voices of it and the animals that are part of it! The mini apartment where we stayed is a real gem and offers you fairy-tale intimacy, it feels like being at home. And then there's Francesca, the owner, who makes the difference!
