Sadly, the biggest disappointment on our trip through Tuscany. We understood that we were booking a room in a farmhouse, and the previous reviews warned us of the "less welcoming" hospitality. But, the view was amazing, and we felt quite special trucking up the fantastic mountain the location is placed on, and a promise of "more", rather than less. We arrived to an absolute mess of a property, to say the least. Again, the view is amazing, however, it offers no welcome at all, and neither did our hosts. Upon arriving we called our host on the phone, and she showed up...took us, in a fast pace, to our room, opened the door, and quickly disappeared. Not a key...not a smile...nothing. We immediately saw the second door to our room, which leads into the rest of the house...but, no key there either. So, no key to the front door...no key to the second door. With curiosity, we opened the second door which led to another messy room, presumably a living room, with chairs placed in a circle, and ouija board over the fireplace. WHERE'S THE KEY??? After waiting for over 2 hours for our promised meal, that we had no idea what it was, as no choices or information was given. We were well served with wine and the customary starters. Of this, we can't complain. The next day, "arrivederci" - no smile again. For us it was really disappointing, but if you want just a place to sleep in and you are not bother by anything else, the room was clean and spacious.

We stayed here for three nights and had an amazing time. The location is beautiful: pretty high up and you have a great view from the terrace. Consuelo is very nice, every morning we had a delicious breakfast outside with cakes and coffee. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom is very modern and nice. I would definitely stay here again. The road to the accommodation is very steep with many sharp turns, and if you encounter other cars it can be tricky to move around them. However, this is the only downside I can think of and the positives definitely outweigh it!

The access wheel should be marked as difficult, small mountain road, narrow for 3 kms. We were notified the day before that there would be a party and not when booking. Insulation with the apartment next door is non-existent. The welcome was very brief and we were not offered breakfast, too bad.
