On the slope of the Etena Volcano this courtyard hotel has a family friendly spacious group of apartments fully appointed with kitchens, outdoor tables and space to wander. The property has a pool that is sparkling clean and nestled in an enchanted garden. Services are handled by very attentive caretakers who will provide what is needed. Located away from the chaos of Catania.....this place draws artists, photographers and those who want the calm of nature and 17th century charm.

Historic building (used to an old olive oil factory) Beautiful and quiet garden with large pool. Rooms are very antique. If you are more into comfortable rooms better look for another hotel. Friendly host. Private parking on the property. Close to Catania and the Etna. 30 minutes drive from the airport.

Beautiful property but very challenging host. Never mind not meeting the host onsite, you will most likely run into difficult with check-in. Take the time do to your own research on recommendations provided by the host as it will not turn out to what you expect. Overall, beautiful property but sub-par host. J

This was my second time in this wonderful property at the foot of Mount Etna. The wonderfully landscaped and spacious garden is a delight to the eye. The pool is surprisingly large and deep, so you can really swim for a long time. The apartments are very pretty and practically furnished with authentic Sicilian furniture. Maria Francesca and her team are extremely helpful, friendly and service-oriented. I felt incredibly comfortable there and will definitely come back.

Arriving at Villa Lionti was a journey within a journey for me. When the gate opened I entered a small enchanted world outside of time. The garden is well-kept with a fascinating corner of aromatic herbs that the owner selects and takes care of personally; the pool corner with deckchairs in the shade of the trees where we were served an aperitif was romantic; the furnishings and the entire restoration of the building are absolutely in style. The rooms were spotless and the hosts were very kind and thoughtful, allowing us to enjoy our privacy whilst offering us an exquisitely familiar atmosphere. The villa has proven to be a strategic place for excursions to Etna, in less than an hour we reached the most beautiful beaches of southern Sicily. Villa Lionti is a place that I absolutely recommend.
