Enjoy Arima Onsen at a reasonable price. The building is a little old and the facilities are old, but the rooms are spacious and good value compared to the price. The restroom was clean, but it's been a long time since I've been in a shared inn building (it looks like it would be used on a public school field trip). There is no TV. There is no night manager. The nighttime entrance is equipped with an electronic lock where you can enter a number. It's not a luminescent type, so it was dark and the numbers were hard to read. I think it would be nice to have lights with motion sensors.

You can enjoy unlimited bathing in Kin no Yu for 5,500 yen per night, so it's cheap. The room has the minimum necessities, and if you are missing something, you can go to a nearby store or convenience store to buy it, so it is not inconvenient. I was able to enjoy a trip to Arima Onsen that was completely different from staying at a ryokan.

On Saturdays and Sundays, the cost is 17,600 yen for two people, but with travel discounts, you can stay for around 10,000 yen. Parking lot costs 1,000 yen. I was glad that I was able to check in at 1pm (I was worried about whether I would be able to check in between 3pm and 4:30pm as I was planning to climb Mt. Rokko after arriving). However, the parking fee is an additional 300 yen (13:00 to 15:00), and you can only use the room and bath from 3:00 p.m. The tourist association's explanation was thorough, but I ended up getting lost until I arrived at the hotel. Exit the tourist office and turn left at the bus terminal. The room was clean, the view from the window was good, the location was good, and we had unlimited access to Kin-no-Yu and Gin-no-Yu, so it was really nice. It's cheap. The next day, you can check out by 12:00. I have fond memories of strolling through the quiet streets of Arima at night after taking a bath in Gin no Yu. At night, the entrance to the inn and the entrance to the room were all coded, so it was nice that I didn't have to worry about having to share a key with my roommate. (This review was very helpful as it is an unusual type of inn.)

The view is really nice. You can hear birds chirping from a distance, and it's very peaceful. There are rooms facing south and north, and from what I see inside the building, both seem to have good views. The photo shows a room facing south. If you stay overnight, you can use Kin-no-Yu and Gin-no-Yu as many times as you like for free. Kin no Yu was about a 2 minute walk. There is a famous soba restaurant in the area on the 1st floor, which is convenient. Since the facility is unmanned at night, you will receive a key to the inn at the tourist information center when you check in. The toilets are shared and the facilities are simple but well maintained. Perfect for solo travelers. There seem to be many solo female customers. I thought 6,000 yen for a room without meals was expensive, but when I went there, all the surrounding hotels were high-end hotels, so I think it's reasonable considering the location.

If you search for accommodations in Arima Onsen, which is considered one of Japan's top three hot springs, you'll find many reasonably priced accommodations. It's not great, but I was about to give up on just taking a bath outside, but I found it. Owned by Kobe City, managed by a hot spring cooperative, and specializing in overnight stays. ¥4,500 per person per night. There is a ``Soba restaurant'' inside the building, but be sure to check before ordering as last orders are early. The room feels like a large business hotel. A bed in a Japanese-style room with a great view. There are no toilets or showers in the rooms, and there are no hot springs in the area. Moreover, there is no private parking lot. Pick up your room key at the Arima Onsen Tourism Association and check out at 10am. Early morning departures are also possible. The price includes the drop-in bathing fee for ``Kin-no-Yu'' and ``Gin-no-Yu''. If you request a parking space, they will arrange it for you, but it is a 10 minute walk to the inn. You will not be able to drive into the inn, so you will only need to unload and carry the bare minimum of luggage from your car. Arima Onsen is a smaller area than you might imagine, and it will take you less than an hour and a half to walk around the souvenir shops, temples, hot springs, etc. from one end to the other. Actually, after leaving my luggage at the inn and taking a bath in Kin-no-Yu, I was planning to drive to Kikuseidai, which is said to have a ``10 million dollar night view,'' so I needed to stay overnight. It's perfect for a stay-only plan like this one. We recommend this plan to enjoy Arima Onsen and Kikuseidai at a low price. I don't think there will be any problems if you have experience with private lodging or business hotels.
